Win 8 Mail App hyperlinks fail

Apparently the Windows 8 Mail App on desktops eventually fails to launch hyperlinks. This does not appear to be a problem on Tablets.

Has anyone here experienced this and if so, do you have a fix. Some reinstall and reboot several times, while others delete CLSIDs in the registry. None of those sound appealing, looking for other solutions.
