Man shoots girlfriend over 'Walking Dead' argument

Yes I can say that i'd never do that because i'm very level headed. Yes i'm human and subject to human errors but i'll never use my gun in anger. I'll put my net worth on it as well, hell I put my life on it as well. You honestly think id do something so stupid like that. I don't even drink alcohol for fear of doing something stupid that would cause me to lose my firearms. I follow the law to the fullest extent in order to keep my second amendment right and to think i'd risk it and do something so stupid is unthinkable to me.

i own other things that make me hated by the protectist as well, one other thing being a pitbull, since I own a pitbull does that mean I fight dogs? Or trained it to be aggressive. Stop trying to label me.

this is only a guess... do you have a gun rack on the rear window of your pickup?

I am willing to bet you all my net worth that there has been a legal gun owner, just like yourself, say "i would never use my gun against someone in anger" and then, someday, snap and do that very action. You can say that you haven't and you can try to predict that you wouldn't, but there is no guarantees that you wouldn't. You are human and subject to human errors just like anyone else.

As a gun owner this is the reason I supported the Gun Registry. The gun registry was supposed to be used to prevent domestic violence but the registry itself needed some updating/fixing. Yesterday I read a report by StatsCan that since the abolition of the gun registry earlier this year, Gun homocides in Canada has increased by 7% within 2 months, main cause is domestic disputes. Gun violence is now up to 1990 levels for domestic violence cases while criminal use is still an all-time low. Canadians apperently prefer knives for armed crimes.

Now I read that the Conservative government wants to postpone or do away with prohibited weapons (make them restricted or non-restricted) as well as not requiring manufacturers to place serial numbers on the gun (How am I supposed to report my gun stolen if theres no serial to associate it with?). The gun lobby here believes that requiring gun manufacturers to place a serial will increase the price of guns. I say that if they do increase the price, its gauging, not because of serials. Serials on guns are CHEAP!

I was making a general statement about the situation, your comment is not appreciated. Gun ownership is a paramount right of every human being in today's world, much like the ability to carry and wield a sword in the days before guns were mass produced. Without the right to arm yourself, you are incapable of "really" defending yourself against tyranny in government, much less anything else. Try fighting a bobcat off your chickens with a machete, I dare you, you'll find out real quick a 5.56 round is much faster and safer. I mean really, if the government of the UK decided to enforce a curfew, confiscate privately owned land, and allow the sheriff of every town to rape one female citizen of his choosing every night, under the protection of armed guards, what could you "really" do since the majority of you are not allowed to own a gun? You could organize a little resistance, maybe kill a couple people when they weren't looking, but unless foreign governments started sending stuff to you, you would be totally helpless. What do you think happens to people without guns when they try to stand up to people with guns? Read your history man (generic, no gender specific term, in case you are a woman), this is a very important right that he just forfeited by making a very stupid and potentially lethal decision.

On the castle doctrine, you have to be in fear for your life, I'm fairly certain of that. There's all kinds of things you can do to remove somebody from your property before shooting them becomes a reasonable response. If the bullet struck her in the back, she obviously wasn't facing or attacking him.

Well you can continue to live in your little bubble, where the government is out to get you, your kids and your wife and bobcats attack you and your chickens so often that you have to sleep on your front porch clutching a gun. I'll be out here in the real world.

My disdain for guns is certainly not a secret, but I'm not stupid. I understand there are situations where it's warranted. Such as protecting livestock on a farm for example. However, that's not a good enough reason for every Tom, Dick and Harry to own one. There are no bobcat's on the streets in the city (normally anyway). As for the government, we don't live in a 3rd world country. If you honestly believe that government would get away with doing any of that, I feel sorry for you. If you're so paranoid with your government, sounds like that's a mental stability issue....which would indicate maybe you shouldn't own a firearm? Just saying...

Yeah, we're all obsessed with killing and have a lust for blood  get a grip.

You're absolutely right. Except for the news that trickles in on an almost daily basis of people just like you who have snapped for some stupid reason and started offing people.

Its not the law abiding gun owners you have to worry about, people need to report suspicious behavior. If people would do the right thing and report their family members or friends or anyone they think could be capable of doing such horrible things then some of the shootings could be prevented.

Except in situations where that law abiding citizen has had enough of the loud music and shoots a teenager....am I right? You keep referring to yourself as a law abiding citizen (which for the record, I don't doubt you are), but you keep ignoring that some of these crazy ass shooters were too. You know, before they pulled the trigger.

A gun is neither good or bad, a gun in the hands of a bad person is what you have to worry about, a gun in the hands of a good person (which there are more of than bad) is a threat to no one except a bad guy with a gun,or a knife. I support the laws that are on the books now, I think they need to be enforced a lot better. The laws on the books are plenty enough, its just that the government doesn't enforce them to their full potential.

Everyone is a "good person" until that trigger is pulled and someone is seriously injured or dies. The gun is a weapon specifically created for killing/destroying. There is no good in that, no matter how you'd like to spin it.

Just as many of the shooters have probably said at one time or another. If you're naive enough to believe that you are the only person on the planet that has ever said "I'm a good person, I would never do that!", you would be sadly mistaken.

Everyone's a good person till someone stabs someone to death, everyone's a good person till they drive drunk and kill someone, everyone's a good person till they rape someone, everyone's a good person till they kidnap and rape and kill someone. Get the drift? Don't just make it a gun issue. People snap all the time and its not just with guns.

You can't tell me that he was a model citizen before he killed that kid though, can you? No you can't. But anyway crimes are committed every day by first time offenders so yeah.. next.

So you agree that someone should have a gun to protect livestock which is property.. But you don't agree with using a gun to protect human life? I see where your priorities lay.

I love that you're trying to make me out to be the next mass murderer though. Real classy of you. You all seem to be stuck on mass murderers like you can't wait for the next one to happen just to say I told you so! Sick people.

this is only a guess... do you have a gun rack on the rear window of your pickup?

No, who does that these days? Why the hell would you put a gun in plain sight.. No one does it anymore at-least very few do it anymore.

Of course everyone is a good person before they snap. That's my point. Not sure what exactly you're trying to refute? My point is simple. You can blah blah until you're blue in the fact about how much of a stand up citizen you are and how you would never hurt anyone, you would just be blowing smoke. You're just as capable and more dangerous because you own firearms.

You can't tell me he wasn't a model citizen before he shot his girlfriend, can you? No you can't. Next...

I said it warranted owning a firearm, not that I agreed with it. You already know I don't believe anyone should own a gun. But it was a good attempt to twist things, yet again. Or is this just another circle argument starting...again?

I'm not making you out to be anything other than someone who owns a gun, claims to be so responsible as to never use it in the heat of the moment, knowing full well you can't actually ever promise something like that. You yourself of said you'd go down in a hail of bullets before ever letting anyone take away your toys....Lol

Yeah i'm pretty sure you're making me out to be a potential lunatic, you say i'm more dangerous because i own guns, and then you say that I can't promise that in the heat of the moment I wouldn't use a gun and then you try to make me out ot be a nutjob because I don't want my second amendment right taken from me by force. And then you say no matter how much I try to tell you that i'm a model citizen you say that i'm just blowing smoke, you don't believe me, you act as though a gun changes my mind set.

Perhaps you'll go ape **** and pick up a knife and start slashing and stabbing everybody..Maybe you'll take a hockey stick and start clubbing everyone over the head with it.. Never know man, you could be the next serial killer! OMG!!

technically, he asked her to leave and she didnt ... he then went and got the gun and shot her... he was within his rights to do so, regardless of how the situation came about.

HAHAHA LOVE IT!!!

I'm not sure where you're from where it's OK to shoot someone in the back just because they didn't leave right away, but it's not Earth.

The Castle Doctrine, right? That's only if you're in fear of your life. Otherwise you could just shoot door salesmen etc.

Again, technically you can. IN SOME STATES, if you tell (or warn) them to leave your private property and they refuse, you are legally able (again, for some states only if they pose a threat) to shoot them. Of course you shoot them with measure (not wasting a entire clip all over their body when they are unarmed; that would be excessive and would get you in trouble)

This is wrong on so many levels i don't even know where to begin.

It makes it way too easy to kill your gf. Let's say i want to kill my gf (i don't of course). If i'm the owner of the house (which i curently am) i just have to tell my gf to leave. Of course she wont leave why would she leaves? She will say "WTF is wrong with you today?". Then i'll just shot here for not leaving my house.

Like I mentioned above: IN SOME STATES, if you tell (or warn) your girlfriend (as long as it is not her property) to leave your private property and they refuse, you are legally able (again, for some states only if they pose a threat) to shoot them. Of course you shoot them with measure (not wasting a entire clip all over their body when they are unarmed; that would be excessive and would get you in trouble)

Im not saying Im for or against this (personally, I am against this; You call the police and they deal with the situation) but that is the law in some states.

Everyone's a good person till someone stabs someone to death, everyone's a good person till they drive drunk and kill someone, everyone's a good person till they rape someone, everyone's a good person till they kidnap and rape and kill someone. What you all have no serial numbers on your guns???

My gun has a serial number, but after reading the news this morning, I was shocked that they actually sell guns here with no serial number. UPDATE: The Prime Minister today clarified that they will not change the classification system. However, so far 7/10 times hes said one thing and done the opposite.

Perhaps I will. See how that works? You can't predict the future, stop pretending you can. Next week when your wife/girlfriend/husband/boyfriend cheats on you and you catch them in bed and have a side arm sitting on the dresser next to the door, you can say with 100% certainty you wouldn't pick it up and fire away? If you say "That won't happen", you'd be lying because you don't know that it wouldn't.

You keep saying I am making you out to be all sorts of things. The truth is, it's all based on things you've said. Sorry.

There's no use argue with him. I thought everyone here already know that.

Please explain to me how banning guns would end murders? Explain to me how it would make me safer when there are so many other means of murdering someone. Funny how none of you anti gunners commented in the thread about the guy that stabbed someone to death and then used a cross bow to murder his school instructor..Please tell me how banning guns would stop stuff like that from happening..

The only affect banning guns would have is removing an easily available tool from the reach of people involved in highly emotive incidents. There's no way any kind of ban could affect someone who has planned their actions beforehand.

And no, I'm not advocating the USA banning guns. That ship sailed long before your constitution was even written.

King, even a redneck can figure this out: answer the following questions to see if you can win big!

$1,000,000 question, what is the easiest way to kill 10 people in least amount of time? a) knife b) hands c) Gun

$2,000,000 question, which can kill without even being close to the person(s) you wish to kill? a) knife b) hands c) Gun

$3,000,000 question, which is the least "personal" way to kill someone? a) knife b) hands c)Gun

$4,000,000 question, which method requires the least amount of effort to kill someone? a) knife b) hands c) Gun

$5,000,000 question, which method can "anyone" (big person or small person) use to kill anyone (big person or small person)? a) knife b)Hands c) Gun

1. a Bomb

2. a Bomb

3. least personal way to kill someone? LOL wtf kind of question is that.

4. a knife can kill someone just as easily as a gun don't try to play that game and knives are plentiful and they are designed to slash cut and stab oh my!

5. that's right a gun can save a small person from a big person, to bad murder rape victims didn't have something to protect them.

There are ways to kill massive amounts of people without using a firearm.

And what's worse is 1 and 2 are quite easy to make with what you already have in your house.

So the gist of your argument is, because there are other things that were designed for other purposes used to kill people, you should be allowed to own something that was created expressly for the purpose of ending another persons life?

If you get mugged at gunpoint you don't be a hero, you will loose your phone, wallet, is it really worth losing your life or ending someone elses over material things?

So that justifies letting everyone have a weapon?

What scares me more is you think killing someone is justified in most situations.

Someone breaks in. Kill them.

Someone mugs you. Kill them.

Someone tries to rape you. Kill them.

There are alternatives, rape alarms, pepper spray, etc..

Where did i ever say everyone shoukd have a gun? You all keep saying that but I never said everyone should have a gun. I support the law as it is now and that means I think felons and the mentally ill shouldnt have acess to firearms.

lol rape alarms funny, call the police while they're stabbing or shooting you lol. by the time the police arrive they'll be taking pics of your dead body.

    • Didn’t Dbrand once complain that Casetify was ripping off their designs a well? seems pretty bad of them to try and get around Valve’s copyright this way with that in mind.
    • Dbrand thought they could get away with this Steam Machine case, Valve disagreed by David Uzondu Image via Dbrand Dbrand has cancelled its highly anticipated Companion Cube enclosure for the Valve Steam Machine, which it teased back in November of last year with a concept render and sign-up page, because it did not ask Valve for permission first before manufacturing the case. According to Dbrand, it took the "backwards approach" of building the product first before asking for permission from the copyright holder. Seven months of work went into the project, requiring over a thousand engineering hours from the design team. Workers developed forty-four sets of injection molding tools, making a unique mold for each sub-component of the crate. When the Companion Cube went live on Monday last week, it, according to Dbrand, quickly became the second-fastest-selling product in the company's fifteen-year history, racking up orders for hundreds of thousands of units. Customers eagerly bought the $129.95 deluxe edition or the bare-bones $99.95 version, which the manufacturer cheekily branded as the "Poverty Cube". It was around this time that the legal eagles at Valve descended on the accessory maker with a formal demand. The developer pointed out that the iconic block design remains protected intellectual property from the game Portal, so unlicensed sales had to stop. Dbrand said that all its pleas to salvage the project with the Valve team, including proposals to run a properly licensed release under official terms "with their blessing", fell on deaf ears, so it had no choice but to obey and remove every trace of the product from the internet. If you bought the enclosure, the company said that banks will process your refund by the end of this week, but if it still hasn't arrived in your account by then, you should not hesitate to contact support. The Steam Machine itself is a high-performance console that Valve designed directly to bring PC gaming into the living room. It was announced on 12th November 2025 (the same day Dbrand announced the Cube) and runs on the Linux-based SteamOS, the same OS that powers the Steam Deck. As for the price, due to the shortage of memory and storage chips, the hardware cost landed much higher than people were expecting, starting at $1,049 for the 512 model (without a controller) or $1,128 with the new gamepad. The premium 2 TB model pushes those prices even higher, selling at $1,349 for the standalone console and hitting $1,428 if you want the bundle.
    • It's listed #399.99 on Amazon, per your link. It's not $299.99.
