invert win8 trackpad

Hey everyone, I am playing around on windows 8 and the trackpad is driving me insane....

The issue is scrolling. I have multigesture scrolling to work in windows 7,vista, xp, Linux, osx.... name any other OS you wish... double finger scrolling up moves the page up and scrolling down moves the page down.

it's what I am used to and it's what I will experience on every PC I touch. MS with all it's wisdom decided to change the default in windows 8. it's frustrating and neither I nor the MS employees at the store could figure out how to reverse this....

I would just say I need to get used to it and it's not that bad but if I work on any other laptop that doesn't use windows 8 this will be reversed for me. so I dont' want to get used to it....

any ideas?

MS didn't change it, the driver from the manufacturer of the pad did.

Most likely in the systray you have an icon of a touchpad. double click it, you probably have an elan pad since that's the one I know uses the reverse as standard, click on edge scroll under one finger untick the "reverse" box. and you might check the settings under multi finger to.

all the devices at the store used this same setting. even the surfaces....

I just checked mine, there was an option that said "content moves the direction of your finger" . I guess I had never read that closely enough.

thanks for the help. my issue is fixed at least. Interested to know how you switch this on the surface.

wel for touch devices lke the surface, that is the correct direction, since there you grab and pull.

when you hook up the little keyboard to the surface and try to use the track pad. it's not grab and pull anymore...

For the surface, there is an app in the windows app store that allows you to revert the direction of scrolling with the trackpad.
