Windows 8 Clean Install Questions

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Thinking about doing Windows 8 Pro 64bit Clean Install soon, Just wondering if there is Chipset drivers I need for my HP P6-2133W System, so far I got all the drivers I need it looks like, Video, Sound, Printer, and other stuff.

Reason thinking of maybe doing a clean install, is one for better performance in some games, secondly if I do it before I get too much installed on here, then won't be having to reinstall so much

Secondlife With 3rd party Viewer--sometimes I have issues seeing textures In the game, multiple crashes in a row, so if I do a clean install, maybe that will help out with that

Using 12.11 beta drivers right now for Video, can remove those if needed

Just upgrade to windows 8. If it doesn't work out, downgrade. It might be a pain to re-install everything on Windows 8 and figure that you prefer 7, but that's something for you to decide and choose if you want to hassle with. I'd recommend trying to upgrade first. If you like it, do a clean install.

If' it's an Intel chipset then by all means do it. The chipset software drivers can only be installed within windows. Now the F6 HDD drivers can be installed at the point where Setup asks where you want to install windows. After you install the F6 drivers then I would delete "C" and then create and format a partition on "C". If you don't do this then Windows 8 will name the older windows folder to Windows.old, then it will continue installing. Always make sure that you have all overclocking off and set to stable settings. :-) have fun.

Well, it's AMD. If you can find the AMD "F6" HDD Chipset drivers then go ahead. :-) And remember that Windows 8 come with its own Antivirus Embedded. This means that the performance will feel like you don't even have antivirus installed. :-)

Upgraded to Windows 8 Pro From Windows 7 on October 26th, Really liking WIndows 8 Pro currently...Despite I think should've done a clean install in the first place back then lol, but can do one these days as well.

And yes I barely notice Windows Defender Antivirus at all.
