bug IRC connection issues

I randomly lost connection and now I can't reconnect, though existing connections seem ok. I'm getting '433: Nickname overruled.' I hadn't changed anything and I've tried two different devices (laptop and phone (on wi-fi and mobile data)).

I've tried to connect using my phone - no chance. The server is still up and I'm connected via my laptop, but the login is buggered. Pinging DaveLegg!

Yeah, they are just having issues, I can't connect either:

 

* Disconnected (Connection reset by peer)
* Disconnected (Remote host closed socket)

 

Relax though, they are probably upgrading something, it will be back to normal soon.

Seems to be some connection issue between the IRC server, and Neowin's database. I'm working on a temporary workaround until we can get that resolved.

We're back, with the temp fix. Note that if you change your IRC nickname through the IRC page, or your password on your Neowin account, this change will not apply to IRC until we get the permanent fix in place
