I've been looking for a free Toast alternative, any idea if it exists?
Care to be a little bit more specific? Do you want an alternative that offers all/most of Toast's features or only certain ones?

No. Adobe Photoshop can also run on Windows.

Transmission, Xtorrent and uTorrent are all usable, although I prefer the former. Free and seems to be updated on a fairly regular basis.

ntfs-3g is a great lightweight program allowing MAC users to plug NTFS and FAT32 formatted hard drives/expansion drives in and making them writeable.
Worked wonders here on 10.6.5 SL

Those themes are not compatible with Mac OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard.

Is anyone using Chroma player? If so, I have 2 questions, I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. First, Chroma doesn't save my playlist contents, so I have to add the items back every time I start the program. What can I do about this?

And second, is there any way to set the subtitle position? For me, the subtitles show up way too high, I want to set them to a lower position.

Thanks. :)

I'm afraid of messing something up with Onyx. Is it pretty easy to goof up my OSX install with it?

Except when your cache or Spotlight index goes corrupt. Yes, you can fix that through Terminal as well. Hitting a button however is more convenient for people that lack UNIX experience.

I believe if you manage to find a way to corrupt your cache or Spotlight index, you

It doesn't require you to have any special skills, so what you're saying here doesn't make much sense.

One can also wonder why you take everything so seriously

Because Apple is a very serious fruit.

To fix the Spotlight issue, just rebuild it by:

1. Going into System Preferences > Privacy
2. Add your "Macintosh HD" drive to the list
3. After 5 seconds, remove the Macintosh HD drive
4. Within 10 seconds, it should start rebuilding your Spotlight index! :)

Anyone know of a program similar to instinctiv? I need a lightweight audio player that can do streaming radio internet as well as regular mp3's... instinctiv doesn't seem to know what to do with streaming internet radio.

I'm looking for a good duplicate finding program, so I can clean up my HD's, and also what is a good file renamer? I use to use Tag&Rename on Windows and looking for something that is just as good as that one.

You can use Automator to batch rename files.

Just read about DupeZip a few days ago, don't know if it's any good.

Is that good for renaming and tagging mp3s?

Thanks, but there's no free version in the US app store.

An app called Fantastical (MAS link) was just released, and it's one of the best augments I've ever seen to iCal/Outlook/Entourage.

I know iCal will have some natural language parsing in Lion, but the natural language parsing engine in Fantastical is absolutely incredible (e.g. it perfectly parses something like "Lunch at 1pm with Bob at Panera", even allowing you to invite Bob to the event). It also comes with Services and AppleScript support for good measure, and plays nicely with my new app-launcher of choice, Alfred (by using Alfred's shell script abilities).

Oh, and it looks great too. :p

Does Fantastical support MobileMe accounts? When they add that then I'm sold.
