Mac OS X Software List

Recommended Posts

I was recommended Vox from www.voxapp.net which was the previous ToolPlayer if I'm not mistaken.

But for some strange reason it seems to have vanished from the Internet...

OSX is lacking good Media (Audio) applications.

Not sure if these apps were already mentioned but here it goes:

  1. TerminalColoreopard, change Terminal.app ANSI Color on Leopard/Snow Leopard.
  2. Safari AdBlocker, the only 64-bit ad blocker built for Mac OS X 10.6+ to integrate directly into Safari, for minimum disruption to your browsing experience.
  3. SimpleCap, Quick, easy and powerful Screenshot utility.
  4. muCommander, a lightweight, cross-platform file manager with a dual-pane interface (download the Nightly build).
  5. YoruFukurou (NightOwl), a native Twitter client for Mac OS X (download the beta release). A great and free alternative to Tweetie.
  6. SL-NTFS (Snow Leopard NTFS), a Preference Pane that enables writing on NTFS.
  7. Alfred, a quicklaunch application which aims to save you time in searching your local computer and the web.
  8. XNJB, a graphical user interface for the Creative Nomad range of portable MP3 players and newer MTP players.
  9. Kill Flash Cookies, deletes Flash cookies.

Uff.

Thanks! Finally a decent lightweight player with an EQ that isn't trying to be a swiss army knife. Love this app

Why arn't the Google Apps like Picasa or Google Earth on the list or did I miss them somewhere?

Is Stellarium and Celestia on the list?

I think most if not all of these are covered on the list but if not here is a quick refrence to some of the Best ... http://bestmacsoftware.org/

and here are some more... http://macspecialist.org/content/articles/essential_apps/

IMO vlc player is the best one out there. It plays any type of audio/video file that I have come across.
