I don't mind them changing the origins as long as the story is good.

Ugh, new Spiderman looks like a total douche.

Hm. I'm not a big fan of what I've seen in the trailer either. Tobey Maguire seemed to be much 'nicer'. I haven't read any of the comics though, so I can't really say how it's 'supposed' to be.

If any of you have ever watched the old school Spiderman cartoon series back in the early 90s (or the older ones from the 70s), you'd know Peter Parker was always a smart ass. Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker was not correct. Tobey Maguire made Peter Parker look like a pansy wimp and that's not how he was. He was nerdy, but he was a smart alec too.

I was irritated that this reboot was happening, but personally I loved the trailer! I'm actually excited to see this now.

IceBreakerG is right, Spiderman had a lot of one-liners and was in general a pretty big smart ass. I think they nailed it.

So true, well, till he gets a bit older anyways, I think with the MJ character and pairing there came a personality change. We'll see how it goes, I'm just glad they're not totally jumping right back to the MJ bit like the first movies did. She doesn't show up in the story till a good deal later and, iirc, they both hate each other at the start?
