Another Halo: MCC Insider test now live with an expanded Custom Game Browser

Halo MCC

A fresh Insider test for Halo: The Master Chief Collection hasn't surfaced in a few months, but that changed today with 343 Industries pushing out a brand-new flight. Eligible Halo Insiders should have their invite waiting for them on Halo Waypoint. Both Xbox and PC players are involved in this session.

As previously revealed, this flight is a preview of what's to come in Season 8 of the collection, which is slated to improve and expand the popular Custom Game Browser, add a new Halo 3 map, enable view model offsets, and add more content to unlock.

Insiders will find the Custom Game Browser now supporting Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 3 multiplayer alongside the already available Halo Reach capabilities. Filters, search options, and other improvements have also been made to the feature. Moreover, all games in the Master Chief Collection are gaining the ability to adjust the weapon model position on the screen, letting players see more of the action than what they are holding.

A new multiplayer map for Halo 3, Icebox, is being tested as well, which is a remake of the Halo 2 map Turf. Meanwhile, ODST Firefight is getting enhanced with the addition of Flood enemies. As usual, upcoming Season 8 customization items are also included in this flight for further checks before primetime.

The complete patch notes for this flight can be seen on the Halo Insider Support pages here. Note that the link will only work for those who are already enrolled in this test.

Once the Insider test comes to an end next week, barring any extensions, it won't be long before the features roll out to all players. 343 Industries is quite busy these days, as it will also be hosting another Halo Infinite Insider session soon with a focus on multiplayer, though no exact dates have been announced yet.
