AOL Instant Messenger 4.8.2781 Beta

Thanks Byte who posted this in BPN on the forums. AOL Instant Messenger should be used because e-mail just isn't fast enough sometimes. This convenient, add-on to your system lets you communicate one-on-one or in a group with family, friends and business associates who also use AOL Instant Messenger. Finding people online can be easy too. Use the new AOL Instant Messenger Member Directory to locate friends by name or by e-mail address.

There is now a Send Mail feature on the Buddy List window:

With the Send Mail feature, you can e-mail to buddies from your AOL, CompuServe, or Netscape e-mail accounts. Simply select a buddy in the Buddy List and click on Send Mail.

The first time you e-mail a buddy, you will be prompted for that buddy's e-mail address. The e-mail address will be saved to your host-based address book and will be automatically used the next time you e-mail the buddy. If you wish to update the e-mail address for a buddy, select the buddy and then choose the Edit E-mail Address menu item
