Cities: Skylines is free to claim on the Epic Games Store

Cities Skylines free on Epic Store

It is Paradox Interactive that is supplying the Epic Games Store freebie of this week, with Cities: Skylines coming in as a replacement for last week's double giveaway of classic arcade games.

Cities: Skylines is a hit city builder developed by Colossal Order. Originally released in 2015, the title has players placing roads, zoning, building public services and transportation, managing taxes, traffic, policies, and various other elements, all for maintaining a profitable city with happy residents. A sandbox mode is also available to have building freedom without worrying about meeting milestones.

Here's a short description from the store page:

Cities: Skylines is a modern take on the classic city simulation. The game introduces new game play elements to realize the thrill and hardships of creating and maintaining a real city whilst expanding on some well-established tropes of the city building experience. From the makers of the Cities in Motion franchise, the game boasts a fully realized transport system.

When not on sale, Cities: Skylines goes for $29.99, and keep in mind this is the base game that's being given away, with new premium expansions releasing even now. Here are the minimum requirements:

  • OS: Windows 7 64 Bit | Windows 8.1 64 Bit | Windows 10 Home 64 Bit
  • Processor: Intel Core I7 930 | AMD FX 6350
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 (1 GB) | AMD R7 250 (2 GB) | Intel Iris Xe G7 (Tiger Lake)
  • Storage: 4 GB available space

The Cities: Skylines giveaway on the Epic Games Store will come to a close on March 17. Coming up next is a giveaway for the psychological horror title In Sound Mind.
