Nintendo announces a new free-to-start multiplayer Kirby game coming later today

During its Nintendo Direct presentation today, Nintendo announced a new Kirby game, the first brand new title since Kirby Star Allies last year. The new game is called Super Kirby Clash, and unlike most games in the franchise, it's free-to-start.

Super Kirby Clash focuses on boss fights, with players taking up missions and then joining with up to three friends to take on some of the franchise's most popular boss characters. In this game, every player controls Kirby itself, but each one can have different jobs, which means they'll have different weapons and attacks, allowing for players to strategize better.

The game can be played alone with CPU-controlled allies, but it offers a variety of multiplayer options as well, including up to four-player split-screen on the same console, local wireless using different consoles, and online with friends or random players.

Super Kirby Clash is launching today, so you should be able to see it on your system very soon.
