Samsung has a bunch of Memorial Day deals on SSD and Sound Towers

samsung memorial day

A few of Samsung’s ultra-fast SSD variants are currently being discounted this Memorial Day, in which Samsung says: "As some cloud companies begin charging for some photo storage, now’s the perfect time to invest in an SSD". For example, the 970 EVO Plus 1TB variant is being sold at $20.09 off, making the usually $169.99 product available for just $149.90, the larger 2TB SSD is also being discounted at a relatively lesser $20 off making the usually $329.99 drive available today for $309.99. However, the smaller 256GB and 500GB drives currently do not have a discount.

The 970 EVO Plus SSD boasts impressive read and write speeds, with the company touting speeds of 3,500MB/s and 3,300MB/s, respectively, under ideal conditions. Naturally, the 2TB variant is expected to perform slightly better than the lower storage offerings. While the SSD is based on PCIe 3.0 – unlike the latest 980 Pro –, it offers a great choice for those that want to snag an additional drive for their new PCIe 4.0 PC builds without shelling more for storage or upgrade their storage for older builds.

Amazon is also discounting the 1TB variant of the 980 Pro today, normally costing $229.99, it can now be ordered for $199.99 which is a savings of $30 (13%). The smaller 500GB variant is also seeing a discount, it can be had for $119.99, which is $30 (20%) off its usual $149.99 list price. The PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD boasts sequential read and write performance levels of up to 6,900MB/s and 5,000MB/s, respectively. Amazon also sells other storage sizes of this drive, but as of writing only the 1TB and 500GB variants are on a discount at Amazon.

If you're in the market for some 2.5" SSD internal storage, then Amazon has you covered, with each storage size getting a discount today. However, the largest discount can be found on the smallest solid state drive, with the 1TB option now going for $99.99, which knocks 17% off its normal $119.99 asking price. Other drives clock in at around $100 per TB with today's discount applied, which isn't too shabby.

A few of the SSDs highlights include:

  • Samsung’s latest 2nd generation QLC SSD with up to 8TB of storage capacity
  • Expanded SATA interface limit of 560/530 MB/s sequential speeds
  • RELIABLE AND SUSTAINABLE: The 8TB 870 QVO increases reliability up to 2,880 TBW using a refined ECC algorithm for stable performance

Lastly, Amazon is also discounting the 256GB variant of the Evo Plus SDXC SD Card. Normally costing $39.99 it can be picked up for $29.99 today, that's a savings of $10 (25%) off. The 64GB, and 128GB storage options are also seeing a discount of 17% and 15%, respectively, with only the smallest 32GB option missing out on any sort of discount.

Samsung also has a few Memorial Day deals which it has shared with us, these remain available through June 6.
