Usually, when you get a new smartphone, one of the first things you do is set up the security for it. But a new video from Samsung makes it clear that they really want you to secure your Galaxy Note8 against those that want to take the high-end handset from you.
The video goes through a detailed step-by-step of setting up the various layers of security. The first is setting up a screen lock pattern or a PIN number (or both). After that, you need to set up the fingerprint scanner ("your index finger is a good place to start"), followed by facial recognition. After that, you can then set the iris scanner to look deeply into your eyes.
That's five different methods you can choose from to keep your phone secure. The video offers a step-by-step procedure on how to do each, with reminders for features like the iris scanner, about avoiding direct sunlight, and the adverse effects of using of glasses and contacts for the scanner. Yes, you should read all the directions.
All of this is pretty basic for the tech savvy, but there are plenty of folks who need to have their hand held through setting up their handheld with all of the new-fangled gadgets and gizmos just to make a call to Aunt Gladys.
