T-Mobile to include Netflix on its family plans

It was only last week that wireless carrier T-Mobile announced it would be holding its Un-carrier Next event; today, CEO John Legere revealed that the carrier would be including a Netflix subscription on its family plans starting on September 12.

Legere went on to explain during the Q&A session following the brief announcement that while other carriers are bundling unnecessary services like cable and landline phone services with their wireless plans, forcing customers to pay more, T-Mobile is doing the opposite, by making sure to provide its customers a way to save money.

T-Mobile COO Mike Seivert chimed in with the details of the new promotion explaining that in order to qualify, you simply have to be on a family plan, and also on a T-Mobile ONE plan. This means that legacy plans like the Simple Choice plan will not be eligible. As mentioned before, this promotion will become active starting on September 12 and customers can choose to take advantage of this by either calling into customer service, using the T-Mobile app and associating it with your Netflix account, or heading into a store.
