Judge Lucy Koh has ordered a new trial for many of the products named in the legal fight between Samsung and Apple, which could reduce the $1 billion in damaged that Samsung was ordered to pay.
Analysts believe that Microsoft and its Windows Phone OS could get more attention from smartphone makers in the wake of Samsung losing its US court case to Apple this week.
