Microsoft Surface Pro TV ad to debut Sunday during Grammy Awards

10 days before the launch of the Surface RT tablet in October, the first TV ad for Microsoft"s tablet made its debut. Directed by Jon M. Chu, the commercial contained lots of impressive dance moves, lots of clicking of the Surface tablet with the Touch Cover keyboard and the sight of two old people kissing.

Microsoft apparently liked what Chu accomplished and now the director has confirmed what we had previously speculated about; he had indeed directed a new TV spot for the launch of the Surface Pro tablet. In an update late on Tuesday on his Twitter account he stated:

ANNOUNCEMENT!! my secret brand new Microsoft @surface PRO commercial makes its TV debut the night of the Grammy"s! GET READY :) #5days

Microsoft is already a part of the Grammy Awards; it sponsored a contest where it would pick an up and coming music band to not only attend and perform during the Grammy Awards events but could also be featured in a Surface TV ad.

It"s interesting that the TV commercial for the Surface Pro will actually be aired the day after the tablet is scheduled to go on sale in the US and Canada on Saturday, rather than several days beforehand.
