Microsoft is going to include detection and removal of this Sony malware soon in their Anti-Spyware definitions.

Also, they are going to include it in the December Malicious Software Removal Tool.

I don't own many Sony CDs, thankfully I haven't bought one since early 2004 but after this fiasco I'm not going to buy a single Sony CD ever again and I'm going to encourage people to do the same, even if they have removed the protection now they just did to save their sorry behinds.

I'll never buy any cds from Sony from now on. Thjs rootkit installation is a private life invasion that no one at Sony would like to have on their own computer. And not telling the customer about that a rootkit installation on pc IS pretty like spyware. Good thing that Microsoft is aware of this and release a removal tool. We should globally sue Sony or at least boycott their products.
