NOTEPAD++ v3.4

Notepad++ is a generic source editor (it tries to be anyway) and Notepad replacement written in C++ with the win32 API. The aim of Notepad++ is to offer a slim and efficient binary with a totally customizable GUI.

Changes:

v3.4 new features and fixed bugs (from v3.3) :

1. Auto-detect the UTF-8 files without BOM.

2. Add synchronized (vertical and/or horizontal) scrolling feature in multi-view mode.

3. Add several keys (cut/copy/paste, undo/redo...) in the shortcut mapper.

4. Opening a file with relative path from command line is supported.

5. Fix the clear the "Style found token" problem (Find/Replace Dialog) in normal text mode.

6. Fix UPPERCASE and lowercase bug under Windows 95/98.

7. Enhance HOME/END key in Wrap text mode.

8. Add Always on top feature.

      Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.
