The new issue of Official PlayStation Magazine UK magazine is hitting subscribers now and it has some decent features, a 11 page feature on Modern Warfare 2 as well as 8 page features of Assassins Creed 2 and FIFA 10. But the most interesting of all: Gran Turismo 5 next month.

No, we?re not kidding. Gran Turismo 5 is gonna be previewed next month in the next issue of OPM. As to what this preview is all about, we dont have a clue. Just that the game will be previewed next month according to the next month feature of the magazine.

The game was revealed last Tuesday at Sony?s E3 press conference.

We look forward to it. In the meantime, get the review scores for the issue after the jump. Ghostbusters, Demon Souls and Prototype got very good scores, but what were they?

I don't tend to buy magazines anymore tbh and no doubt scans of this will leak to the net at some point :) Will be interesting to see what they have to say about it and what modes/functions it has :)

Everyone seemed to miss this in the trailer, looks like the Top Gear Test Track...

Also from Top Gear themselves,

Finally we get a proper look at the much-anticipated Gran Turismo 5, and frankly we can’t wait to have a go. We were all acting like we weren’t bothered about GT5 before we watched this, but now we’ve seen it we don’t care about cool anymore – we want to get our hands on this:

“I’m not sure I’ll ever have to drive real cars again,” we heard in our office as the trailer was frantically emailed around from person-to-person.

We don’t think GT5 will replace the real thing – even on PS3 – but it looks like it’s going to have a bloody good go.

Keep an eye out for a sneak peak at the damage modeling, the Citroen GT, and the NASCAR stuff – which looks awesome.

When this game arrives, you’ll also get to drive around the Top Gear test track, so you can be like Stig.

Too much excitement in one game then.

Looks like GT5 might appear in a new season of Top Gear then? :p

Also that part of the video is at dusk, day/night cycles? Could just be a static option, but hopefully it's dynamic.

Hey guys, in that photo with like 20+ Gran Turismo cars. Could this be PD answer to Forza 3 replay feature? Obviously you can't create that while racing, but perhaps you can in a new photo-mode?

Top Gear track was the first confirmed track for GT5 quite a while ago, so nothing new their Audio :p

I think what it does confirm is it will be in the game day 1, not days/weeks later and not as paid DLC either.

Is it not the first time Top Gear themselves have actually commented on it?

In the past I thought it was just PD saying they'd have it in, and that was like a year ago so I'm glad it's still on track :p

I could have told you it would be a day 1 track from the day it was announced.

Great?

I would rather hear from Top Gear themselves, especially in todays environment of paid DLC. The Top Gear test track is a luxury addon, not a real necessity, could easily of milked the Top Gear fans a few bucks which would be crap.

Luxury addon? It's a very early announced track with a lot of focus from the Top Gear fanbase and GT players alike - It would be PR suicide to make it a "down the line" DLC. Common sense and logic will tell you it's on the disc and available on day one.

Ah well no point in arguing, I just thought they may nickel and dime it due to how rabid the Top Gear fanbase will be to get to the closet they'll ever experience the Top Gear Test track.

Anyway, some more rumours about apparent engine/car customization

The exclusive PlayStation 3 title is a web browser which you can buy parts for your car. Think of engines, exhaust valves and other similar components. These components can in each car, so if you have a Ferrari, you can also stop an Audi engine. You will have the full freedom to your car to adapt to your own wishes and that the prices of the same components as in real life. If you get the feeling like you are buying genuine parts for your ultimate race car you can buy with the money which you have earned with racing in the game.

What interests me here is the "Full freedom" for customization. The translation is a bit hazy, but it might be possible for GT5 to allow engine switching. It's pretty vague at this point. The translation says "...if you have a Ferrari, you can also stop an Audi engine." In the context of the sentence, full customization and detailing is being described, and it doesn't appear to be talking about Ferraris stopping Audis. It's more like Ferraris sporting Audi engines.

A very interesting feature. If you could switch engines, then it presents many variables to the game. For instance, the GT-R Skyline would lose its 4WD power advantage since you could stuff the engine into a lighter body. Speaking of stuffing engines, I'm also wondering about the implementation of engine bay size limits, or if "full customization" holds true and you can stuff anything under your hood.

Bad translation (ps3 title is a web browser? lol) but it seems you can buy parts in game with earned money and swap them into cars you own. Dunno how that would pass manufacturers will though, an audi engine in a ferrari?

Now that would be a welcome change, full freedom with upgrades and engines. I can't even start to imagine the combinations when you add certain engines to finely tuned chassis', you could create some real beasts. ( Granted PD actually have real-life chassis data and the likes in the game and not some static crap ). Also, I don't think manufactures mind too much ... The reason why car manufactures always cockblock games us mainly the visual side of things, don't want pictures of their cars wrecked all over the internet or on TV, perhaps even implicated in some "disturbing" wreck scenes that could cause certain individuals behind the screens to ape-sh ...

So replacing an engine won't do much harm I'd think.

Play are saying their release date of November is "official"...

Please be advised that the release date currently listed on the website, the 27th November 2009, is as given to us by the publisher / manufacturer or The Game. Should this release date change we will update the website accordingly, so it is worth checking Play.com periodically. It can't be, it's clearly coming out May 2010!!!

Also fingers crossed it is true as that is the day after my birthday :D

You have to admit hardcore fans being creative. Only one video of GT5 and not even sure if it's actually game or polished video yet fans find ways to make cool stuff. I'm almost sadenned with the fact that GT forums are filled with nothing but hopes. I wish they already showed something. Hopefully this article shows more of the actual game.

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
