E3 2011: Sony Press Conference

I like how he avoided the question about cheaper 3D glasses by saying $499 bundle. How about just the 3D glasses for movie watching with more people?

EA has a lot of work to do to for an NBA game now

He said $60 (or $69?). Not really a great deal for the bundle, but the co-op idea is the only incentive I know of for a 3D TV.

Ok i missed that. Not a good price to me but its a start I guess.

Infamous 2 looks good. I played the demo then got the first game. There is a big jump in the visuals from 1 to 2, I think someone here called it the Uncharted 2 jump in the graphics and I agree.

Yep he said $69

And actually the bundle is a pretty decent deal. An Asus 23" 3D Monitor is $499 alone on Newegg right now, so as long as the specs are similar or better on this Sony one, including the glasses and a game seems like a fairly decent deal to me.

I am almost positive it is what I will be asking for for Christmas (have my wife pitch in with my parents). I have wanted a 3D TV for awhile, but she is not going to go for a full fledged one, so it is a good in-between for me.

Also I see no reason why I could not use this monitor on my PC as well with my Nvidia cards, may just need other glasses, but the way I see it is HDMI is HDMI, unless they put some kind of stupid proprietary connection.

Going from Uncharted and Resistance to the Kobe fail and this stuff wasn't very smart.

Yeah, not the best pacing at all.

It should work fine.

Dust and EVE online combined?? what? :woot:

Yeah not my thing but just based on the popularity of Eve (which I had no idea how big it was until I read an article in PC Gamer magazine this past month), should be pretty popular.

I honestly did not realize Bioshock Infinite had such stylized visuals until this trailer. The characters have an almost anime look to them which definitely deviates from the first game.

Ok, I thought Sony would trounce Microsoft, but it's been all downhill since Uncharted 3. Whichever console you prefer you'll probably think did better based on this conference so far.

Absolutely not.

I own both consoles, prefer neither, and this conference has already trumped MS's from a gamers standpoint. No question about it. Even with Move, which I am not a huge fan of at all, the games are at least more or less aimed towards core gamers.

And now they are introducing a whole new gaming device?

Yeah, no way the MS conference is even comparable to this one, again, from a gaming stand point.

Absolutely not.

Don't even remotely agree with you, but to each his own.

I think so far the Sony conference edges out the MS one. They are pushing move but they are not ramming it down one's throat unlike what MS were doing with Kinect and for that I am quite happy. Theres a decent balance with Sony's conference but the MS was on dominated by Kinect.

Hmm I was hoping Resistance 3 would up the ante but after watching the gameplay video, still not feeling it. I pushed my way through the second game because I was sure it had to be better than the first, and I'm starting to have the same feelings about the third. Almost wish it would just go away at this point along with the Move.

Interested to see the Bioshock for NGP but sadly it looks like it will be a long time before that happens. At least the launch lineup "should" be better than that of the PSP.

    • I was using searxng for about a year , self hosted, but results were starting to timeout and eventually it became unusable so I switched to degoog. Much better for my needs, more polished and add-ons like maps and calculations etc

    • Hello, I am not as familiar with AMD CPUs as I am with Intel's, but as I understand it, that's a mid-range CPU from about three years ago.  I would think it to be fine for everyday casual-type use.  A larger SSD might be better, but with storage prices these days that's a decision that has to be carefully thought about. • Ocenaudio 3.19.5 by Razvan Serea Ocenaudio is a full featured, fast and easy to use audio and music editor. It is the ideal software for people who need to edit and analyze audio files without complications. Ocenaudio also has powerful features that will please more advanced users. To assist ocenaudio development, a powerful toolset of audio editing, analysis and manipulation called Ocen Framework was created. ocenaudio is also based on Qt framework, a well known library for cross-platform development. Cross-platform support ocenaudio is available for all major operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Native applications are generated for each platform from a common source, in order to achieve excelent performance and seamless integration with the operating system. All versions of ocenaudio have a uniform set of features and the same graphical interface, so the skills you learn in one platform can be used in the others. VST plugins support Ocenaudio supports VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugins, giving its users access to numerous effects. Like the native effects, VST effects can use real-time preview to aide configuration. Real-time preview of effects Applying effects such as EQ, gain and filtering is an important part of audio editing. However, it is very tricky to get the desired result by adjusting the controls configuration alone: you must listen the processed audio. To ease the configuration of audio effects, ocenaudio has a real time preview feature: you hear the processed signal while adjusting the controls. The effect configuration window also includes a miniature view of the selected audio signal. You can navigate on this miniature view in the same way as you do on the main interface, selecting parts that interest you and listening to the effect result in real time. Multiselection for delicate editions To speed up complex audio files editing, ocenaudio includes multi-selection. With this amazing tool, you can simultaneously select different portions of an audio file and listen, edit or even apply an effect to them. For example, if you want to normalize only the excerpts of an interview where the interviewee is talking, just select them and apply the effect. Eficient edition of large files With ocenaudio, there is no limit to the length or the quantity of the audio files you can edit. Using an advanced memory management system, the application keeps your files open without wasting any of your computer's memory. Even in files several hours long, common editing operations such as copy, cut or paste happen almost instantly. Fully featured spectrogram Besides offering an incredible waveform view of your audio files, ocenaudio has a powerful and complete spectrogram view. In this view, you can analyze the spectral content of your audio signal with maximum clarity. Advanced users will be surprised to find that the spectrogram settings are applied in real time. The display is updated immediately when altering features such as the number of frequency bands, window type and size and dynamic range of the display. Ocenaudio 3.19.5 changelog: Fixes crashes related to audio devices on Windows (DirectSound and ASIO) Fixes several crashes and memory corruption issues Fixes opening several headerless files at once, which previously dropped all but one Improves batch export by suggesting and remembering the destination folder Fixes accented and non-Latin characters in VST plug-in and compressed-archive file names Adds zstd compression support and updates the archive library Other bug fixes and improvements Download: Ocenaudio 64-bit | Portable | ~40.0 MB (Freeware) Download: Ocenaudio for Linux and Mac OS View: Ocenaudio Homepage | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
