Not entirely what your after but any chance to self promote myself. An old band of mine

Based more in the realms of 80's hardcore. Good fun, now defunct.

No it's the original form of Hardcore if he wanted metal then he should have said metal.

No. Real hardcore came around in the late 70's early 80's (Minor Threat etc), a long time before the hardcore you're talking about that just tried to hijack the name.

The OP is referring to post hardcore a direct descendant of this type of hardcore.

Thanks, I'll give this a go after work.

Not bad at all!!!

REFUSED ARE BAAAAAAAAAAACK

Amazing!!! How have I never heard of em!!!!  Listening to rather be dead

What other songs do you recommend? Really liking their sound and screams.

Well if you never heard New Noise prepare to have your mind blown. The Shape of Punk to come is the defining post hardcore album. To this day I get amazed at how well it was conceived. It sounds like it came out yesterday. Awesome band.

They're touring again, and they sound great. I was never a huge fan, but I loved Crisis, and I've been listening to it again these past few days, it's better than I remember. I really like Dallas Green's solo stuff, but I hope they at least keep touring more, if not try writing a proper follow up to Crisis.

 Josh Scogin '68

I only recently started getting into his stuff, this one is killer. I need to check out old Norma Jean and The Chariot as well.

Can't believe how much BMTH changed their sound. They definitely peaked with "There is..." In fact, it's hilarious how awful they were when they started out, and how poppy they've become. I was extremely prejudiced towards this band, but a friend talked me into checking out "There is..." and I still wish they kept making that brand of metalcore, it was way above and beyond anything else they've made before, and sadly, since.

Anywho, Thrice just announced they're releasing a new album next year. Beyond dope. I just hope Dustin had enough folky bluesy stuff with his two side project, that he could give Thrice some edge again.

Also, The Chariot owns. I pretty much like anything with Scogin in it. And to go back to the beginning of the post, one of my favorite tracks off of BMTH's "There is" actually features him. One of the reasons I picked up on '68.

oh man oh boy oh boy oh boy!  Josh Scogin! He needs to get 68  to sound like that lol... just raw vocals!

Also on BMTH... you mean drown " gotta a hole in my soul growing deeper and deeper" sounds like 30stm.   I think sempiternal was the sweet spot.

@Draconian Guppy I think Josh is still friends with everyone in the band, I've seen several clips before where he performs with them.

Btw, did anyone listen to the new Thrice album? It didn't do much for me, barely had desire to play it since it came out. The opener track is killer, tho.

Yeah, I overdose everynow and then in several "memphis will be laid " live videos.

Like you, I liked hurricane a lot.  Though I haven't given the whole album a second chance!  My first run was, "lets listen to this see if its decent" and not really a critical listening.

In other news.

Waiting for ze new Oh Sleeper album and The Devil Wears Prada!
