Knowing Mozilla, they probably ran into a last minute showstopper bug or something like that. It's one reason why people shouldn't get carried away and download the final candidate builds before they're officially released! :laugh:

Don't have Stylish installed on this machine at the moment, but I have just restarted firefox in safe mode, and the problem has gone.

Guess it's time for a little process of elimination :rolleyes:

I clicked on "Help" and then "About Firefox" and it said 'update available'. So I told it to update and now it says I have 5.0.

I don't see anything comparable to showip anywhere. I did find a screencap extn. there's stylish, and the scrolling one.... but that's about it

but I prefer FF's interface much better and there are tons more addons.

I looked through the chrome list and there is lots of junk on there. most of the "replacements" are babied down versions.... :(
