So I got myself a Nikon P223 3-9x40mm scope and replaced the iron sights on my rifle the other day.  Paid a guy at the gun store to mount and bore-sight it, then took it out into the woods and put a couple of magazines through it to pull it into a 100 yard zero.  It's wild, to look at it, it looks like you're staring straight into the back of the front sight post, but even zoomed all the way out to 3x you can't see it.

 

Note: The e-Mac to my right was used as a target for my friend who bought a Mosin Nagant (the first rifle bigger than a .22 LR he's ever owned) and wanted to try it out.

The only "weapon" I own is a replica of a 1860 Colt Navy pistol.  I hesitate to call it a weapon though since I don't own any black powder, caps or balls to fire the thing.  I suppose I could use it to hit someone over the head with since it's got some heft to it.

I have large hands too, I placed it next to my car keys for size comparison.

Barret's are fun to shoot.

The .50 I shoot the most is my Hawken plains rifle; for big game a 500 grain antimony hardened bullet in front of 100-150 grains of Pyrodex.

I'm purchasing a Glock 19 9mm, and a Springfield XD 45.

Neighborhood I live in now is going down hill, I'll probably end up picking up a few rifles, and shotguns. I had an AR-15 but I sold it to take care of a family members medical bills.
