Recently, we?ve been hard at work improving Android Market to give you new ways to find great applications and games, purchase books, and rent movies. Today, we?re releasing a new version of Android Market which makes all of these available on phones (Android 2.2 and higher).

So it's a redesign which takes advantage of movies and books even though I won't be able to use movies and books.

Riiiiiiight.

Anyone think it looks a bit WP7-ish? I guess it's really more of a redesign that reflects the other redesigns in other areas of Google.

i really don't see the appeal of renting/watching a movie on a tiny screen like that. maybe on an android tablet...

I figured it's basically just to say you can kinda deal. But yeah definitely would rather a tablet or some type of TV appliance for this :) Netflix is great and all but it would be great to just have one source for everything!

Installed it but seems there's some bugs in there still so i'll try pushing it and overwrite the older one. The bug i got was updating facebook to 1.6.1 yesterday and it just wouldn't show the option to update (even though i got the message) then when it finally did it downloaded and installed and "updated" but when i went to the app and checked the about page it still showed 1.6.0 (as well as in Applications). So for whatever reason, it just wasn't working so right there.

(yes i restarted a few times :D).

Anyways, i'll try again and see if it makes a diff.

I can't even connect to the market. Keeps saying no connection.. yet my browser and all that works fine.
