Java Platform, Standard Edition 7 Released

After nearly five years of collaboration within the worldwide Java community, Java SE 7 and ready for download! With Project Coin (many small language changes that add up to a big boost in productivity for Java developers), the new Fork/Framework (which facilitates parallelism for mulit-core processors), the New File System API (NIO.2) (which provides the ability to preform many basic file system operations natively) and more. Java SE 7 is an important step in Java's evolution.

Bah, I confused this by thinking that the standard Java client was ready to be updated. Still hows Java 6 Update 26 as the latest the main java download site.

It's the final 1.7 version.

And it's available at oracle.com. Not yet on java.com.

Actually, with this release, you can no longer bypass ASLR through a Java ROP, since ALL the modules now have ASLR enabled.

I'm sorry but Java will never be on my machine. If I ABSOLUTELY have to have it. I will be using the "Quickjava" plugin to keep java turned off in my browser until I need it. I will honestly go out there and say that MOST Malware infections come in via and out of data version of java or via a Zero Day Exploit in the newest version of Java.

I wish I could get rid of it, but unfortunately, I have to develop in it.

And on the developing side, its missing what I really wanted: lambdas.

At least we finally get string switching and the list/set syntax should be useful

had the beta installed for a while, if nothing else it makes Minecraft playable on crappier computers :p
