Monitor shootout for new system Samsung vs. Asus vs. LG thoughts?

Monitor shootout for new system Samsung vs. Asus vs. LG thoughts? Discussion re what you use for gaming monitors/ your monitor brand of choice. Looking for 3 monitors for a tri monitor system. Use for gaming 1080p support needed no 3d support or touch needed (won?t rule out one of the monitors being touch screen but I?m leaning away from the idea). Other brands considered (dam you Sony for not creating dedicated pc monitors). Current thoughts include but are not limited to http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-PX2370-Widescreen-Monitor-Charcoal/dp/B00388Y7I2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top and the Asus ?Designo? series and any decent looking and spec good LG. Suggestions as had never had a desktop before and have no idea where to start? Monitor looking stylish would be good but specs come first. Would respect and appreciate any help.

LG sells their good panels and only use the crap ones for their own monitors. out of those three choices I wouldn't pick any one of them. then again, my next monitor I won't be buying one until I can get a good IPS (not the cheapest, but the next step up, anything higher is just to expensive).

LG, as far as i am concerned they are the best I have seen.

You have one, what makes then so good in your eyes (slight pun there given were talking monitors) would you care to quote your model?

LG sells their good panels and only use the crap ones for their own monitors. out of those three choices I wouldn't pick any one of them. then again, my next monitor I won't be buying one until I can get a good IPS (not the cheapest, but the next step up, anything higher is just to expensive).

I assume by panel you mean TV panel? Ok what would you pick? ISP?

I managed to get 2 HP 2310m monitors for 150 each. they are pretty nice. there is edge bleeding of course but it's not noticeable unless the screen is completely black. I love the reflective panel and the way it presents the picture. my older monitor is a samsung that's 3-4 years old. i didn't know i was missing anything until i put it next to the HP.

I bought a very expensive Asus monitor a few weeks ago and tested it out, i wasn't impressed at all. I love their thinish frame specially for multiple monitors but i couldn't stand paying so much for colors that weren't so great compared to my HP.

IPS Monitors are the way to go these days, and games responsiveness on them are actually fine really.

Thanks a lot of them seems to have very similar specs these days and most IPS (I have now looked it up) is the general rule for gaming still don?t go for 5ms go for 2m or under? Does it really matter?

Edge bleeding not something I know of on my laptops. Do you know if the HP 2310m is on sale in the UK can?t seem to find it on Amazon UK. Oh and what Asus was it I was looking at some of their new range so would be useful to know what you were looking at.

+1 Any IPS would probably be a good bet.

Yep narrows it down lol not seems a lot of monitors have no USP these days.

I guess you might not have this one (state your model won?t you?) Anyone got any reviews of the PX it?s my front runner right now.

You can safely ignore the ms values on pretty much any monitor today. anything 16 or below is fast enough that you won't notice it, and is more than fast enough for gaming.

And on top of that, a 12 ms IPS monitor will in reality be just as fast as a 2-5ms TN monitor, it's only the TN monitor will either be that fast and have crappy colors, or it will have decent colors, but in reality be a 12ms monitor, but in the testign they cheap and only measure white to grey, instead of proper white to black to white.

low ms values only mean that you won't have good saturated colors because the panels is set up to never reach full saturation.

Thanks so open question for all. Other than the ms ips and res what other factors should I be taking into account for a modern gaming monitor just tft vs. LCD? Other than that aesthetics?

Thanks reading. Can anyone give me a mini check over on the specs of these I?ve look at reviews all sing its praises so it seems I can't decide if I even like the look of it rather like a net top screen. http://www.asus.com/Display/LCD_Monitors/MS246H/
