Finding MW3 MP to be disappointing with the little I've played

You seem to be taken down in less than a second of being shot at, my character must be made of paper.

Are there actually any extra gameplay modes? having taken a quick look through the Playlists it just looks like they copied MW2 over, nothing of any value seems to be added to the bunch and the few maps I've played just seem rather uninspired.

I haven't really gotten into it yet, and while I'm not the biggest CoD MP player I find myself missing the Treyarch touch of stuff past the standard CoD on-line experience, whether it's wager matches or the extra effort put into creating a bigger cod points system that everything is based around using, I even miss the silly things for customising your profile.

MW3 Launch Party @ Dundas Square, Downtown Toronto. They also had 20+ gaming stations where you could play one of the missions (the training one)

nice.. I don't think I'm getting MW3 right now.

Being in the military, it's hard to take some of these games seriously because it looks cool, and then you see this supposed high-ranking US soldier with a uniform that is so backwards and jacked up it's hard not to point out all of the deficiencies. The guy at 3:12 needs to go back to Basic Training. The flag is on the wrong shoulder, the collar of his top is fastened, and he doesn't have the excess material of his beret pulled down over his right ear. Totally ate up, and ruins my view of this game, after a fairly decent intro to the video.

You have to remember - there are LAWS forbidding anyone from getting things exactly right - even in a videogame. (The law in question is called "impersonating a member of the armed forces of the United States"; doing so - enlisted or officer, regardless of branch of service - is a national-level felony, and the United States Attorney prosecutes you in United States District Court. It's why, even in movies made with the full cooperation of the Department of Defense, several uniform details are gotten *deliberately wrong*. so as not to run afoul of that law.) And considering the tendency of Congressmen and Senators - regardless of political party - to grandstand by calling for hearings over the most picayune of pecadilloes - what they would make of this. And, at least once a year, they actually prosecute someone, somewhere, for violating this law.

Ah I forgot about that one, you do have a point.

5hr SP? LOL, pathetic.

Most expensive x-pack to date.

to be fair, playing SP on easy in pretty much any game nowadays and it'll be 5 hours.

and what's awesome is, i respect your opinion, and that's fair that you think it's an expansion when you can say that about a lot of other games out there right now who though they were as gonna be the new king, but i said that ish in a bf3 (which i have never attacked the game without playing it or backing up why i say that) thread i get labelled a troll and i get in trouble. just saying.

Yea. It can be said about many games, agreed.

But this game hasn't changed much. It's more a name than a game at this point.

A big money cow and man are they milking it.

I myself, just could not justify it's $60 price-tag if I tried.

5hrs is just BAD, man. Even if played on easy.

Like I said, earlier in the thread;

It has a couple really cool set-pieces. But in between sitting back helplessly watching an event unfold and running to point B, you're constantly being rushed through the experience. Slick tactic to give the player a sense of urgency masking its generic mechanics. I tripped out to read/watch reviews where they're echoing my thoughts on the matter.

But all in all, it's nothing new at this point. Nothing at all, which is my issue with the game and why I dare compare it to Madden and even Halo.

They throw in an extra mp mode and couple rename streaks for mp and call it day.

To be fair, since you brought up BF3 is I havent played its SP campaign anymore than I did MW3.

It's all the same at this point in the shooter genre. I found them both rather boring and both have their cheap tricks to keep the player immersed.

Only SP fps I can enjoy now-a-days is that of the likes of Bioshock. I cannot wait till next year to play Infinite.

^ it's true. the problem with war shooters is they all follow the CoD formula.

Still on the ropes on whether I should even get this, Is it any different that modern warfare 2? I've played the hell out of modern warfare 2 and are looking for something fresh, not the same ol.

watch the ign reviews, all i can really say. haven't played MP yet.

i'm in india or nepal (forget) right now and all the people are white... accuracy FTW!!

So far, I've enjoyed the MP. I haven't seen anyone go on a massive kill-streak, most kills I got in a game was 50. It's been fun, I'll try the SP out tomorrow. I'm tired though. Those complaining just need to deal with it. It's so old.

They're called opinions.

Unless you plan on not watching/reading another game review or joining another thread discussing a game ever again; Deal with it.

Agree - whilst I will play the SP of MW3 at some point (I think I'll just delve straight into MP to start with), Definately the only decent single-player experiences I've had of late are those of Bioshock 1/2. And remember Max Payne 'back in the day'. Looking forward to Infinite, and I hope MP3 also tells a good story.

no reason you can't hate on a game if you can back up why without sounding like an asshat

    • Here's how to watch the Xbox Games Showcase today and what to expect by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The June games showcase week has been a packed one, with everything from major presentations like Sony and Summer Game Fest to indie-focused reveals coming in almost every day. Now, it's almost time for another big one, with Microsoft bringing its Xbox Games Showcase back later today. This is a double feature too, with a Gears of War E-Day deep dive also being attached to it. For anyone wanting to tune in online, the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase is kicking off at 10 AM PT | 1 PM ET | 6 PM BST | 7 PM CEST later today, June 7. The event will be available to watch on the official Xbox YouTube (4K 60FPS), Twitch, Facebook, Steam, Amazon Live, and other portals. Separate livestreams for American Sign Language and Audio Description will also be available. "This year marks 25 years of XBOX, and this Showcase is poised to be a true celebration, offering world premieres, new gameplay, fresh updates, and more for a swathe of projects we cannot wait to share," said Microsoft about this presentation. With a new CEO behind it that is pulling off some interesting moves, Xbox may have some surprises to reveal today. New looks at first-party games like Halo Campaign Evolved from Halo studios, Fable from Playground Games, InXile Entertainment's Clockwork Revolution, Mojang's Minecraft Dungeons II, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 from Infinity Ward are to be expected here. We may finally get to see the new Blade from Arcane Studios in action and a new Persona game from Atlus at the showcase too. Surprise announcements may also arrive from other Microsoft-owned studios like Bethesda, MachineGames, Ninja Theory, Obsidian, Rare, World's Edge, or Blizzard. Considering how every new release nowadays is staying away from November and December to avoid Grand Theft Auto VI's release, any launch dates Microsoft announces will probably skip those months as well. Once the Xbox Games Showcase ends, Microsoft will immediately kick off the Gears of War: E-Day Direct. This deep dive into the upcoming prequel from The Coalition should attach gameplay footage and perhaps a release window to the highly anticipated project.
    • People in the '50s and '60s had the same attitude, and we're still here over a half century later.
    • So after some fiddling I was able to get it to run at a pretty stable 30FPS. I'm slightly surprised about how much fiddling I had to do to get there though given what I thought was reasonable hardware: Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS w/ Radeon 780M Graphics Memory: 16 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor 1: AMD Radeon 780M Graphics Graphics Processor 2: AMD Radeon RX 7700S I think I could do it better if I use Linux rather than Windows, Windows RAM usage is stupid without stripping the system down. But once I got it working in a reasonable state, it was so awesome! I felt like a new Bond! If anyone has any advice to get things going a bit smoother FPS-wise, I'd appreciate it.
