dude you can't camp in this game or you'll get chewed up, fave thing about it.

I know, but it's hard to stop when it worked so well in CoD 4, MW2, and Black Ops. :(

I sort of dislike the way the maps are designed now. I guess it makes the game more fun for those that get owned a lot by players like me. An unfortunate side effect of this design philosophy is that noobs tend to camp in corners more often now. I'm only going by my experience in previous CoD games.

CoD 4: 8K kills

MW2: 30K kills

Black Ops: 30K kills

Aside from all the issues I have with the game, I'm beginning to like it more and more. Anyway, has anyone been able to access Elite? It's not working for me at the moment.

What irony? :/ When I said "camp tactically", I meant "camp for a reason". For example, I'll hide behind cover and stay in one area if enemies come at me in small groups. Once they stop, I'll move to another area. I won't camp in a corner hoping that people would run by without seeing me.

Call it whatever you like, and even you still call it camping, its camping, that's why Black Ops was so boring, everyone camping all day every day.

I play a lot of Cod, too much probably and anyone who openly admits to camping, for whatever reason, grinds my gears.

I'm still somewhat disappointed with the game, but not as disappointed as I was initially. I came to a realization that I needed to change my play style. At first, I played the game as I played MW2 and Black Ops. As a result, I found myself dying a lot to corner campers and twitch players (that is, players that simply react with very little skill). I now play much more cautiously and I find that it's easier to kill players that run around like headless chickens. And I no longer have to deal with silly corner campers.

Corner-camping was a standard way of play in MW2 on certain maps, especially on the map packs (Bailout, Salvage).

I do not feel that the way of playing has changed significantly: talking and teamwork are always the most important perks

One thing that I found bothersome is the game's spawn system. It punishes players, like me, that like to camp tactically. I'll stay in a hot spot for awhile because people tend to rush in to get revenge. It worked well in MW2 and exceptionally well in Black Ops. In MW3, people start to spawn behind you and sometimes even in front of you. I've seen a few too many people pop out of thin air.

This is possibly the most annoying feature in directional mode like Domination. It is quite annoying to be fragged by someone who spawned behind you.

I agree that it's an issue that needs to be resolved; however, it's highly unlikely that they'll use a completely new engine with the next Call of Duty game. The developers have stressed that they want a fast-paced game with 60 FPS. A newer engine will likely run at less than 60 FPS on current-gen hardware.

That would be extremely unlikely: at least on xbox, the hardware is becoming a limiting factor. Even if Epic and Crytek did manage to milk some nice things out of the 360 GPU, I do not see IW creating a new engine or improving dramatically the old one, especially since they lost some of their top developers and since Activision is putting a lot of pressure with the release cycle of one IW CoD every two years

Elite was completely broken yesterday evening ...

Just finished the single player.

Brilliant, i've always enjoyed the single player in CoD. The campaigns might be short but the action never stops. Really satisfying ending i thought also. It will be interesting to see what they do for the next game... not next years game but Infinity Wards next CoD.

Time to jump into multiplayer...

... after Skyrim.

I would definitely agree with having to change play styles. This definitely feels less run-and-gun compared to Black Ops, still not sure how I feel about it though. I really became attached to BO which comes in slightly behind the original Modern Warfare so I think it will just take some time to get used to MW3.

Has anybody noticed a standout gun yet? For example, the AK74U (before it was nerfed), MPL, Galil/Famas were all unmatched on BO.

The Scar L, didn't like it in the previous games but i love it now, not just as an assault gun but also instead of a smg.

Using it with ACOG and silencer mainly, savenger comes in handy as it can burn through ammo.

Yes, everything, in the end I prestige'd. Trying to get hold of them on support because I'm a casual player, I would be hitting 80 in like a month... I guess now I've lost basically 29 levels as I'm level 1 now.

I have that feeling now.... the "what's the point" feeling. I jumped into another game and someone did know of it but yeah, they might have just been agreeing with me.

I don't know if I am getting to be a better gamer but I already finished SP play on this at the lowest level but all of the other COD games took a great deal more time? Are they making this easier?

You're probably just used to way you play CoD. Single player has always been easy if you constantly push forward because if you sit back certain areas have the infinite enemy spawn points and you will just be there forever basically.

You are probably right on that. I don't just sit back. I learned that in COD5 you just sit back and the bots just keep on coming. I was hoping for a longer play though.

Well, I've searched the net and I can't find anything so here's the bug in action, This is segment of a round where I got 50 levels....

.

I honestly thought it was a visual thing until I left the game and saw everything was unlocked...

Edit:

So does anyone know how to make it stop doing this? I'm willing to lose 29 levels... (30-1) cause I had to prestige... I'm a casual player... this has ruined it for me.

Ok, what I don't understand is I'm now rank 679 in the world (PC) for score with 5 hours played.... and there are people with higher scores with less played and multiple prestiges... and no one is jumping around shouting about this?

'When will this franchise peak?' Many asked this after last year's Black Ops defied all odds and outsold a Modern Warfare Call of Duty game (the very reason the series is so big today); a brand within itself. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that Call of Duty has yet again broken industry records, but it's by how much that makes it staggering.

A reported 1.5 million people queued at midnight globally to get their hands on Modern Warfare 3, with a total of 9.3 million copies sold on the first day. The Xbox 360 version sees around a 54% share, meaning it's the first game on one platform to pass 5 million on its first day. The PlayStation 3 version held 42%, which is around the 4 million mark. Both day ones are only slightly behind Black Ops entire first week sales. The PC version and the Wii version held the remaining 4%, which is around 370,000 units.

As a whole, Modern Warfare 3 is up 33% over Black Ops' first day sales, and a whopping 55% up on the previous Modern Warfare. the US and the UK combined account for 7 million, which is just over 75%.

Early data suggests first week sales are on course for around 12 to 13.5 million. With just over 87 million Call of Duty games already sold on home consoles and PC this generation, by the end of this week the Call of Duty franchise will have sold over 100 million games this generation.

Hacked server.

I just bought it for the 360 tonight. Either I'm really good or Modern Warfare 3 is easier. I absolutely pwned the first 5 or 6 free-for-all matches I played. I'm usually an average player but I kept finishing first or second. Modern Warfare 3 is pretty fun. It's almost a traditional at this point. However, I think the game with peak with MW3. I think the only way to keep it fresh is to take Call of Duty into the future. Call of Duty: 2100 or something. I think it would be a good game if done properly.

    • Here's how to watch the Xbox Games Showcase today and what to expect by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The June games showcase week has been a packed one, with everything from major presentations like Sony and Summer Game Fest to indie-focused reveals coming in almost every day. Now, it's almost time for another big one, with Microsoft bringing its Xbox Games Showcase back later today. This is a double feature too, with a Gears of War E-Day deep dive also being attached to it. For anyone wanting to tune in online, the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase is kicking off at 10 AM PT | 1 PM ET | 6 PM BST | 7 PM CEST later today, June 7. The event will be available to watch on the official Xbox YouTube (4K 60FPS), Twitch, Facebook, Steam, Amazon Live, and other portals. Separate livestreams for American Sign Language and Audio Description will also be available. "This year marks 25 years of XBOX, and this Showcase is poised to be a true celebration, offering world premieres, new gameplay, fresh updates, and more for a swathe of projects we cannot wait to share," said Microsoft about this presentation. With a new CEO behind it that is pulling off some interesting moves, Xbox may have some surprises to reveal today. New looks at first-party games like Halo Campaign Evolved from Halo studios, Fable from Playground Games, InXile Entertainment's Clockwork Revolution, Mojang's Minecraft Dungeons II, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 from Infinity Ward are to be expected here. We may finally get to see the new Blade from Arcane Studios in action and a new Persona game from Atlus at the showcase too. Surprise announcements may also arrive from other Microsoft-owned studios like Bethesda, MachineGames, Ninja Theory, Obsidian, Rare, World's Edge, or Blizzard. Considering how every new release nowadays is staying away from November and December to avoid Grand Theft Auto VI's release, any launch dates Microsoft announces will probably skip those months as well. Once the Xbox Games Showcase ends, Microsoft will immediately kick off the Gears of War: E-Day Direct. This deep dive into the upcoming prequel from The Coalition should attach gameplay footage and perhaps a release window to the highly anticipated project.
    • People in the '50s and '60s had the same attitude, and we're still here over a half century later.
    • So after some fiddling I was able to get it to run at a pretty stable 30FPS. I'm slightly surprised about how much fiddling I had to do to get there though given what I thought was reasonable hardware: Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS w/ Radeon 780M Graphics Memory: 16 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor 1: AMD Radeon 780M Graphics Graphics Processor 2: AMD Radeon RX 7700S I think I could do it better if I use Linux rather than Windows, Windows RAM usage is stupid without stripping the system down. But once I got it working in a reasonable state, it was so awesome! I felt like a new Bond! If anyone has any advice to get things going a bit smoother FPS-wise, I'd appreciate it.
