YAH!!! Downloading now, I am pretty much done, but by lunch when I can play it will be good to go. That's awesome D3 this weekend, GW2 next!

Oh wow, just found a hint on the blizz forums.

I was downloading at 300kb/s. Which is hella slow. So I googled and found a trick. Un-tick the automatically detect settings under lan in the internet settings in internet explorer. I am current getting anywhere from 3.5mb/s to 4.5mb/s on my 32mbit connection.

SchWING! Downloading as I type this - curiousity factor, admittedly (I'm more a StarCraft/StarCraft II person - I found the original Diablo and D2 meh, to be honest). If they have improved it, I may have to find a place in my game rotation for it.

Diablo III Open Beta Begins Soon

Finally Blizzard opens Diablo up to the masses.

Tired of hearing people brag about being in the Diablo III beta? Well you can finally try it for yourself this weekend. Starting on April 20 at 12:01 p.m. PST and running until April 23 until 10:00 a.m. PST, you'll be able to play all of the five classes up to level 13. All of the content can be played alone or with friends over battle.net.

To learn more about how to participate (and download the clientright now), check out the official post on Blizzard's site.

Dude, come on, we know. Look at all the posts above you on this page, rather than your post count..

No kidding.

Still, you have to wait until 3:01PM Eastern Daylight Time/8:01 PM GMT/Zulu (2:01PM EST/CDT, and 12:01PM PDT/11:01 AM PST) to play - though you CAN download the game now.

I find it funny how I uninstalled the game from the Starter Edition mishap from the other day just last night, and now BLAMO open beta :D

It's ok though, I was getting near 8 Mb/s when I redownloaded it earlier. Took like, no time at all really :p

That happened to me too, downloading the beta twice. But with really slow speeds (~19 kb/s), it ****es me off.

Is that your internet speed? If not try this:

1. Un-check use P2P Downloading

2. In the Internet Options (internet explorer -> settings)

-> Go to the Connections tab

-> Click on LAN Settings

-> UnCheck automatically detect settings

I did the above I went from 180kb/s to 3.5->4.5mb/s

Sadly there are already a crap ton of bots playing the game so I see myself only playing through single player or with close friends when I play. Last night I was playing and EVERY person in my group was a bot :(

The bots are just for farming stuff? Or?

And seriously.. wtf. Bots can get into beta but I can't?!?

I am assuming that folks that are in the beta sold/traded their account to someone so that they could test the bots out prior to the game coming out. These bots were all able to do things that I could not (very fast attacks) as well as all having High level armor/weapons that were magical. they were also all max level. (13)

    • KillerPDF 1.5.1 by Razvan Serea KillerPDF is a lightweight, portable PDF editor for Windows built for users who want full control without subscriptions, installers, or telemetry. It runs as a single executable, making it ideal for USB use and field work. You can view PDFs with smooth PDFium rendering, navigate quickly with thumbnails, zoom, and shortcuts, and reorganize pages using drag-and-drop. It supports merging multiple PDFs, splitting documents, and extracting selected pages. KillerPDF also allows inline text editing with font matching to preserve the original layout, plus annotations like text boxes, freehand drawing, highlights, and reusable signatures. You can search full text, copy content easily, and print documents with flattened annotations. Designed as a free and open alternative to bloated PDF tools, it works fully offline on Windows 10/11 x64. No runtimes install. Everything needed is inside the EXE (targets .NET Framework 4.8, which ships with every supported Windows release). KillerPDF key features: High-quality PDF rendering via PDFium Edit PDF text inline (double-click to modify text) Page thumbnails and fast navigation with zoom and shortcuts Merge multiple PDFs into one Split PDFs and extract selected pages Drag-and-drop page reordering Font matching to preserve original document appearance Text boxes for notes Freehand drawing tools Highlight overlays with adjustable color, size, opacity Undo actions and clear per-page annotations Create, draw, and save reusable signatures Click-to-place signatures anywhere Full-text search with highlighted results Drag-select or Ctrl+A to copy text Print with annotations flattened Portable single-file app (~10 MB) No installer, no admin rights required No account, no telemetry KillerPDF 1.5.1 changelog: Performance Save Flattened PDF now uses multiple CPU cores. Page rasterization is parallelized (PNG encoding runs across cores; the PDFium render step stays serialized since the library isn't thread-safe), so large documents flatten significantly faster while the UI stays responsive (#68). Fixed PDFs that failed to open with "Unexpected EOF" now open (#72). The failure was PdfSharpCore's Flate inflater (SharpZipLib) rejecting the FlateDecode cross-reference stream on multi-revision PDFs - files that open fine in browsers, Acrobat, and Foxit. KillerPDF now detects this and re-opens the file losslessly through PDFium, preserving selectable text. Thanks to @javajon for the report and a detailed reproduction. Grid view renders every page. It was capped at the first 26 pages, so longer documents stopped loading partway through. Tiles also stream in progressively now instead of blocking until the whole document is rendered. Grid Ctrl+Scroll no longer reloads every page when the zoom is already at its limit and nothing would change. Removed a stray horizontal scrollbar (a thin green line) that could appear across the bottom of grid view. Files on UNC / network shares (including the WSL \\wsl$ filesystem) are copied locally before opening, avoiding partial-read failures on network filesystems. Changed Minimum zoom lowered from 10% to 5%, so grid view can pack more columns (helpful for wide/landscape pages) and single-page view can zoom out further.
