EU has been up for 80 minutes, not managed to log in yet due to the login server being absolutely hammered. I won't spam the login button because it just adds to the problem but still can't get in as of a few minutes ago. US, prepare yourselves doubt you will fare much better.

I still have to dl it! I don't plan to play it until tomorrow really :(

If you don't get one by the time my friend gets me mine, I'll throw one your way man. And not sure on what it gets you exactly.

I appreciate it. It'll certainly tide me over until next month when I get some money to buy the full game. Can't wait already!

Thanks again!

What does the trial key get you exactly? The full game for 7 days or something like that? Anyone wanna toss one my way possibly? :)

No, it's the same as WoW Starter Edition. There's no time limit but you can only play the first act and only up to a certain level, can't group with regular players, no real money ah, etc.

its pretty much what the beta had

Not the "first act" in general, only up to the skeleton king in the first act (which is only a small portion of Act 1)....but yes, it is very limited and as Knight said and linked, it's basically what the beta had access to (minus the AH and what not).

The First Act of the First Act.

Managed to log in (EU) at last and had a good hour in-game, no sign of FXAA graphic settings though which I thought would be in retail :/

D3's in-game AA appears to be an FXAA implementation anyway, as such, it can selectively apply the shader effect and avoid blurring text, tooltips and other in game items not suited, when forcing FXAA through 3rd party utilities like NV Inspector etc.

YES! YES! YES!!! I'm in!

The American servers are permanently busy so I've chosen the European one. Couldn't get a response from Asia...

Global play isn't live, so you're only going to get in on the region you're from. Unless you make an Asian/eu account. Then you can play starter edition.

What if I'm from two regions?

I have two shipping and contact addresses on my account: one is in North America, another one is in Europe.

My WoW subscription is North American, but I activated SC2 in Europe.

I got D3 by paying for WoW's annual pass...

I asked about getting a starter edition code yesterday, I just wanna put it out there again in case anyone has one to spare.... :shifty:

So the Diablo 3 Starter Edition has been announced, for the first 30 days people need a guest pass to access it though.

If anyone bought the boxed copy would they consider giving me their guest pass when they get theirs in the post, thanks.

Well game finally arrived, no 30 day passes included though, was it definitely supposed to contain them? Friend of mine who bought the CE got 2 guest passes for WoW and nothing for Diablo III, I suspect it was not included for EU copies?

Sadly cannot connect to play the damn game either, I knew this would happen, too many people trying to connect just like the friggin open beta :(

All this broken server bull**** and other errors all over the Internet, made me glad that I didn't pre-order the game after Blizzard decided to consolize the game and then extra to that add the always-online requirement.

I did the smart thing; saved a bunch of money by pre-ordering Torchlight 2 (gifted the extra Torhclight copy that I received as the result of that to my friend) and forgot all about Diablo 3... until all this drama hit the Internet upon the launch.

I hate sounding like a beggar but if anyone has a Starter Edition code they'd like to share I'd really appreciate it.

I haven't played Diablo in the longest time and on top of that, the Open Beta never worked for me! :(

    • Threads scales past half a billion users, brings deeper community and feed controls by Fiza Ali Meta has announced Threads crossing a major milestone of 500 million monthly active users. And, at the heart of this growth sits something simple: communities. From books to basketball, parenting to music, Threads says its rise has been powered by people clustering around shared interests and, in turn, giving the platform its identity. In response, the platform is expanding its Communities feature beyond beta and introducing a set of new tools designed to make participation easier and more engaging. A redesigned Communities Hub will now appear in the main navigation menu, allowing users to jump between groups without leaving their feed. Each community will also receive a distinct Community Icon, giving them clearer visual identity and making them easier to recognise across the platform. Then there’s Community Progress, which is a kind of live gauge showing how close a topic is to becoming a full-fledged community, alongside guidance on how users can contribute to its development. In addition, Meta is also expanding its Community Champions programme, recognising more users who actively contribute to community engagement. And then things go more local; Local Communities is already available in 100 countries, including North America, South America, Asia, and Europe but are now rolling out with native-language tags starting in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. The platform is also expanding Live Chats to more communities in the coming weeks, adding features such as co-hosting and the ability to quote moments directly into users’ feeds. Beyond communities, Meta is tightening the loop between users and their feeds. Earlier this year came "Dear Algo," a feature that lets people tell Threads what they want more or less of. Now it’s being paired with a new tool, "Your Algo." It allows people to adjust how frequently certain topics appear, with options lasting one, three, or seven days. Meta says these preferences remain private and can be managed alongside “Dear Algo” in a unified settings hub. The rollout begins in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Finally, the company says these changes are part of an ongoing effort to refine Threads based on user feedback and that further updates will continue as the platform evolves.
