Buy something that someone duplicated from the real-money auction house and get back to us. :)

There have been pretty much no totally offline games introduced in the past 5 years.

Not that I'm all that bothered by Blizzards direction with this, but not having a totally offline game is not the same as this which is a totally online game. I can't think of any totally online games that have a single player mode (besides maybe Flash based games).

What if he has no interest in buying ANYTHING from the auction house ? and since when did online only prevent any kind of dupes ? there's more than enough dupiing going on in MMO's including WoW.

And while the game is good, traditional Diablo dungeon crawling, just plain hacking away. It doesn't feel like a diablo/blizzard game.

I like me a Barbarian, and I don't mind him there, but why is there no Knight or Paladin, and what's with the silly Shaman, when was Diablo about "savages" and why does the Wizard and Demon hunter look like some Kind of Crap NCSoft characters. the art style of the game itself is good, it's just, I can't feel the characters. I want my warrior to wear big metal plates, not freaking fur.

Probably the result of differentiation from WoW is my guess.

The glory of online single player

guessing it's only the US server and some euro players are affected because it defaults to american servers unless you change it though.

still being buggered by the occasional and annoying 1 and 2 second latency periods.

Kind of agree with this. I was in the "beta", and I felt as though the game wasn't all that it was said it was to be. Still, I bought it today. Its fun, but its not "breath taking" or "amazing" as it was hyped up to be.

Can't wait for Torchlight 2. Friend of mine works for Runic Games and I'm excited to see whats in store for it.

Few funnies from the Forum:

worst boss of Diablo 3 --- Error 75

Diablo III is Activision Blizzard?'s newest installment of the famous Diablo? series. We have done our utmost to make it a totally new kind of video game entertainment.

To ensure action-packed gameplay, you play Diablo III with both hands.

While the right hand mainly has to press Enter repeatedly, the left hand has the more sophisticated task of pressing ctrl and v button simultaneously. Both the left and the right hand have to enter a rhythmical symbiosis for an optimized gaming experience.

As a bonus feature, players who have mastered Diablo III's demanding requirements are allowed to create a so-called "Hero" who can run around in an interesting and dangerous fantasy-style environment. However, since this "fantasy"-episode is supposed to be a bonus for our most experienced players, it is designed to last for only a few minutes, so as to ensure that players are not distracted from Diablo III's main gameplay.

They literally removed half of what made D2 fun and added a few other things that didn't help it a ton, definitely not something I will be buying.

yet posting about it is necessary?

Why do people now-a-days feel the need to express their displeasure and convince people to also feel that way when they don't like something. Back in the day they shunned it and turned their heads as they passed by.

That said... sigh on the whole log-in server fiasco. Just SIGH.

Are these copying "you be soft" for having to have an online connection to play a single player game, or is it "I Be soft" for buying the friggin game in the first place after predicting the god awful support and crap that would ensue when the game was released, I think the latter, I Be Soft.

I should be kicking up a blizzard of support from people with the same issues. Even EA can handle server issues!!! and they are crapper than crap.

Hands up those who didnt predict this! Oh look no hands ...

Thanks to those members who took the time to reply to me about what the game is all about. It indeed does not sound like me cup of tea, I am not into the whole grinding thing whatsoever, and although it does sound to be more than that, just never really been into the whole RPG.

With that said, if someone has one of these guest codes and is 110% positive they will never give it to someone else, sure send it my way so I can check it out, otherwise give it to someone who would get better use out of it.

Thanks again. (Y)

There is no Grinding really, it's hack n slash and fight your way through the dungeon (no need to grind). Also it's not really RPG in the generic Final Fantasy sense. It's all live action, and you really only have to char about your character. I'd suggest watching some videos on Youtube.

It's grinding in the sense that God of War 3 was grinding... there's just a lot to kill around you. While it has RPG elements, it is not a grinder per say. All actions really move the storyline forward. So you always feel as if you are advancing. Each level earns you new skill or attack. And it has loot somewhat akin to Borderlands. Now, to say diablo 3 is like this, is horrible on my part, as Diablo came first.

If you like the look, and you like action rpg's, you will most likely enjoy this. The story is epic, the characters are unique, and the gameplay is always intense. But you have to ask yourself, do I like to just go "click click click click click click.... " :p

The areas are also dynamic. Starting a area in a new game, will reveal a different layout than your previous game in that same area. Same with monsters. The same monster will not be in the same areas ,and new "mini boss" monsters will be in different areas with different abilities.

Damn, 67 pages that I do not have the time to read, lol.

I haven't played a Diablo before, and I know you have to log in to play online or whatever, is there some sort of trial for the game a la WoW? I kinda want to see what they hype is about.

Though maybe it would suit me to go back to an earlier one instead.

Not without a guest pass at least. Most devs today don't want you to try it out at release. They want you to see your friends having fun, enticing you to buy into the game. You will be able to though in 30 days, with the Starter Edition to try it out.

You could try Diablo II if ya want though, if you can handle the graphics. Just don't touch Diablo I. As much as I loved it, it hasn't aged well at all lol. Torchlight is a great cheap alternative though, and is basically D2 with some improvements. Has a demo if you'd like to see if these style of games are truly up your alley. http://www.torchligh...e.com/download/

The hype is from the years of Diablo 1. Some of us basically grew up in middle and highschool with these original games. We also heard there would be another. 12 years later....

not at all. I bitch about people trying to beat people over the head with what they perceive as wrong... then wrapping it up with a 'I don't have it', or a 'I'll never buy that'.... it's like umm then why try and force others to see your way?

Opinion is one thing... going on and on about something you seem to have no interest in getting... well that's odd.

Ah ok, will have to see if any of my friends who picked up the game have a pass.

Diablo 2 was one of those games I saw when it was being sold that I said, one day I will pick that up, and then just never got round to it, being mostly a console gamer doesn't help either

I'll definitely look up Torchlight.

Damn 12 years, lol, explains some of the excitement, after so long I hope it lives up to peoples expectations.

It has been a LONG one... Actually I didn't think it was going to come. The ending of Diablo 2 and the expansion were pretty definitive.

I hope it lives up to my expectations. Frankly, if I play this game for 3 weeks to 2 months I will be thrilled. That would put it on the same level as Skyrim for me in recent years. I doubt it will come anywhere near the amount of time I dropped on Diablo 2 though. Mostly because I already played the game to death when it was called Diablo 2.

Euro servers going down now, so now I can't play my single player game for the last bit of the day before I go to bed. this is stupid and ridiculous.

I'd be perfectly fine creating a new character if I ever wanted to play online if I could have an offline play character. but then they couldn't price gouge gullible teens out of their money to buy the awesome super rare weapons at the real money shop to make their characters elite and have matching sets.

    • EA reached out to our reporter that mainly does gaming content and reviewed loads of other games, why would this be shocking to anyone? I admit maybe we were considered this time around because of the extra coverage UFC was getting and they wanted a broader audience for this release? IDK. I can tell you that we aren't paid to do the reviews, the fun part of it is (mostly) being able to keep what we review and giving an honest opinion on what we're reviewing.
