This is what I meant by grinding, I know it is not the typical grinding found in MMO's etc. but I still considering just masssive amounts of clicking grinding so to speak. But yeah not your typical grinding. I may check it out down the road,

I've viewed grinding as like what WoW offers. Where you waste an hour of your time killing boars for some NPC, all the while, you haven't progressed a single inch in storyline and barely an inch in leveling your character.

Diablo 3 definitely has a different type of grind. But it certainly will not be for everyone.

@Hawkman, it is less support as is. There is one set of problems to adress, one set of issues that multiple people are seeing. They fix the server issues for them boom all is good.

No they need to support all the peopel who have lag issues, connection issues not blizzards fault, people who want to know why they need to be connected, why they can't play their single player game without beign online, and so on an so on.

as opposed to havign ti give an automated and standard reply to those who deliberately click the "Create offline Character" button, hidden in the bottom corner, then answer yes, two 2 or 3 information dialogs explaining all the stuff these offline characters won't be able to do.

Sotrry, but this massive support requirement if they add offline single play is something that only exist in your head. and in Blizzards "book of excuses with no real world validity for not having offline SP"

Okay so you are telling me:

Q: "Hi blizzard, I have lag problems"

A: "Hello, we are aware of the current network issues, we are working to resolve them. An update will be announced on the site when it is ready, if the problems persist after we have marked it as resolved, please contact us again"

Is harder than:

U: "Hi Blizzard, the game is running slowly. When I am running around"

S: "Hello, the minimum system requirements are: <insert specs>"

U: "I know that, I have a <insert specs>"

S: "Okay, you meet the requirements. What are your current settings?"

U: "All on Medium"

S: "Okay, do you have x,y,z turned off?"

U: "Yes, I tried to turn them on and was the same result so I left them off"

S: "Okay, have you installed the latest drivers?"

U: "Yes, my computer is 100% up to date."

S: "Have you experienced this with the online as well?"

U: "No, this only happens in single player."

S: "Okay, what Act, and what area are you in?"

U: "Im on Act II I just finished the part with the bridge, but it's becomming unplayable due to the speed"

S: "Okay, do you have any other programs running?"

I mean.. I could continue the chat on, but I think you get the picture.

You seem to be in favor of generic answers that most likely wouldn't be for your problem, in place of the specificly answered problems? I'd rather have the 2nd option in your quote, as that is what real customer service is. Asking questions and figuring out the problem. I actually get realy ****ed when I'm given a generic answer. If I told them, " It isn't lettin gme log in." , and heard back, "Hello, we are aware of the current network issues, we are working to resolve them. An update will be announced on the site when it is ready, if the problems persist after we have marked it as resolved, please contact us again", I would flip a lid. That isn't good custome service, and PLEASE don't ever try to pass that off as it is. You can only hurt humanity further by giving notion to this horrid type of help that it should be deemed as acceptable. That type of responce isn't even half assed work. It's just buttyhole :p

If there are known issues, and it's a good chance that the fixes to the server will fix everything, what kind of answer do you expect?

Q: "I'm having a problem logging in."

A: "What happens?"

Q: "I get Error 37"

A: "This is due to large overloads on the server and we currently have a team adding more tubes. Your issue will be resolved with the coming server maintainence."

Less Generic, but same point.

and that has WHAT to do with offline SP ?

and that has WHAT to do with offline SP ?

It has to do with the fact that when it's offline there is usually no generic cause, and it's far more work to troubleshoot. That's WHAT it has to do with offline SP support.. you know.. the topic we were talking about.

Firey, your posts make absolutely 0 sense.

All technical issues can be solved by having the game MP only?

Face it, people hate the online only requirement. Deal with it.

If my posts make 0 sense, you are not following the topic. I never said that all technical issues could be solved by having the game MP only. I am also aware people dislike online only requirements, thanks though Captain Obvious.

I haven't been able to get past act 1 due to server whatevers. But I have this one assumption -

Leah is containing diablo or will become Diablo....

That would be recycling a direct story note from Diablo 2 (or the expansion, I can't remember) though. I can't really see them doing that...but I could also see them doing that lol. Personally I think that Diablo will just be released after you defeat the other two evil demon lords and as always Diablo will be the final boss. Also, it would be pretty bad ass if the Archangel guy showed up at some point in this one. Would be nice to see him in CG or in game not looking like utter crap or low res from the previous game :D

Eh, no. if his game is slow, it's just as much to troubleshoot if he's online or offline, if you think the only support they would give is to check his line then you've no idea what support is, and in fact there's far more to troubleshoot if he's online, if he's offline, they're already ruled out network stuff being the issue.

besides your original argument was that they would be flooded by support questions abotu why you're offline character can't be online (you know despite, the out of the way offline button, the multiple warnings what being offline means). I guess you've now conceded that this was just pure BS then and that there would be no flood or hardly any requests even about this, since it would be clearly warned about and online would be default.

Again, there's no real excuse for not havign offline, theres some bad excuses, and if they had offline, not only would the rather large amount of unhappy players on the forums be happy, but the ones that do play online would be happy to as the servers wouldn't be flooded in the start.

If you mean Tyrael.. beat Act I ;)

This is what I meant by grinding, I know it is not the typical grinding found in MMO's etc. but I still consider just masssive amounts of clicking grinding so to speak. But yeah not your typical grinding. I may check it out down the road,

Although there are RPG elements and there are quests where you get extra XP for killing so many of some creature, the game progresses through levels that follow a story line and there are no "hang out in this area of the map and kill these things". You just level up as you progress through the story line.

I don't know..you may actually like it. I'd say try to get a free pass from someone and check it out for a few days.

All that being said, I would describe Diablo 3 as WoW on crack. That's mostly because WoW borrowed a lot of elements from Diablo 1 and 2, but the gameplay for WoW was dramatically slowed down in order to make it work as an MMO. Diablo 3 re-incorporates some elements from WoW that I'm really glad to see: for instance cooldowns on potions. Always hated the chug portion gameplay mechanics of Diablo 2 and Torchlight... kind of took the fun out of the game.

Well, so far, a lot of the game does seem very very recycled. All of Act 1 is old diablo. Act 2 so far is like Diablo 2's act 2.. back in the damn desert, I believe the same damn one LOL.

But,

Diablo in this version has a very feminine body. So I'll placing my chips on the girl being or being a gateway for Diablo.

I have the retail version and there are no passes, a friend has the CE and he only has WoW passes, so I don't think they were included in the UK release :(

And still not able to log in to play the game :(

So ya... this has already been found.... It's no Cow Level, but it shall do.

http://www.reddit.co...e_diablo_3_cow/

Hah! Way to go Blizzard, I love it when the mock/make fun of the people who complained about the game(s) and do stuff like this.

Random consumer person: Ugh game is to colorful and dumbed down for us PC players!

Blizzard art d00d: Hey, let's make a level like the cow level from Diablo 2, but all super colorful and full of rainbows and smiling clouds and stuff! And let's make it remotely hard to get here muahahahahah!

My friend got the regular retail version, came with 1 guest pass and 1 guest wow pass. Another friend of mine got the CE, and it came with 3 diablo 3 guest passes, and no wow passes. I'll see if i can get a pass or 2 from one of them for some of yall.

According to the open letter, “this action has taken the best models away from [cybersecurity] defenders” who now can’t use the models to find vulnerabilities and make their software and products more secure. “To pull the best capabilities away from defenders without a good reason when our adversaries are rapidly advancing is dangerous,” read the letter. On Friday, the U.S. government ordered Anthropic to limit the export of Fable and Mythos, citing national security concerns, without explaining the specific reasons behind the order, according to Anthropic. In response, the company suspended access to the models to all users worldwide.     https://techcrunch.com/2026/06/15/cybersecurity-vets-protest-dangerous-us-government-ban-on-anthropics-most-powerful-models/
