Sometimes I have to craft the same item more than 10 times to get the stats I need. The chance has always been part of the game. ;)
Unfortunately most crafted gear has very poor stats in comparison to random drops. Even when there are decent items they are usually limited to a relatively high level and by the time you unlock them you've already found better gear. My approach is to focus on the magic find stats, as the more gear you get the better the chances of finding something decent - I've got +29% on my Level 50 character and get plenty of yellow items. I also always try to play with a least one or two other players, as that way you get better loot - and if you're playing with people you're good friends with then you can usually do some pretty sweet trades. The only things worth crafting are gems.

My FPS increased by about 20-30fps average.

Also, hit 46 lastnight with my monk. This is the build I am currently running with. Almost done ActIII on nightmare. Have 11k HP

Sweet. Ya, I didn't notice any change in graphics.. except I was able to increase mine :p

I hit 47 or 48 last night. I might have a good 1H wep for you to use as well Firey. I just found me a awesome first weapon that does 185.5 damage. It boosted me to 1696.45 dps. I have around 13k health and about 950 dex.

Last night, I was running around in Act 3 Nightmare without any trouble with my current build. I just spam FoT, use sweeping wind, cyclone everyone into me, and then spam my heal/serenty/MoH to stay alive. I'm a little worried though about hearing the FoT nerf... as that could totally ruin my current build.

And sorry about not being able to join up with anyone last night. Was trying to rush a friend through Act 3 Normal so he could get closer to my area.

i thought the diablo fight was disappointing.

I thought Diablo's graphics were dissapointing.

I notice that some of Blizzard's graphic artists seem to be influenced by James Cameron's movies, the Aliens especially.

Some hybrid zerg units in SC2 and now the D3 look and move like the Alien Queen. They miss the double jaw and the other features have been redrawn, but a strong similarity is there imho.

The fight and ending sequence as well was very very anti-climatic. This is why me and my friend have trouble seeing this gaming taking however long Blizzard said it did. It just feels so rushed in the most important areas of a Diablo game. I'm hoping some DLC resolves the lack luster ending.

Nice, I upgraded a fair bit of gear last night, however a new weapon would be awesome. I'm using that fist weapon you gave me on Sunday.

Totally disappointed in this game. Oh well, just have to wait for the next game that's a decade in the making...

What are you disappointed with?

I think that the artists used the "Well you can't zoom in and rotate/move the camera, so we don't need to use much detail" excuse. The scenery in most cases is amazing, and the spell effects are really cool. However I felt some of the bosses, and gear is a little lack luster.

Magic find is definitely useful. In Diablo 2 (and now in Diablo 3) i always keep a set of magic find gear in my stash for when I do item runs. However, be aware that when you play with other people, magic find (and gold find, I think) are averaged over the entire group. So if you have 30% magic find, you're in a group of 2 other people, and neither of them have any MF, then your effective magic find (and theirs) is only 10%.

You can zoom in. Just hit 'Z'. :) But overall, I agree. The fight with Diablo and the ending cinematic were really not what I was expecting.

Anyone else notice that after this mornings maintenance, things are worse? I love trying to play single player and getting booted right in the middle of an event.

Thank you Blizzard and your crappy always-on connection DRM.

I love the Z button! It helps me appreciate the game more! It goes without saying that they've put their best effort into the game.

+1

As for the gear, I think, the whole itemization is lackluster lol. However, I expect more items and sets to follow. It was the case with WoW at least.

You mean Ridley Scott?

James Cameron just directed the film, Ridley Scott created it. :p

Incorrect. In D3, your drops are your drops, independent of other players.

On Act 1 Inferno.... wow. Champions and Rares are beasts. Hit for about 22k, and have 400-700k health.

Damn. I just hit level 50, still Act 4 Nightmare. I have about 16k of life... Inferno would kill me instantly still :p

Found another first wep for ya Firey. 165.5 Damage with a open slot.

Doesn't seem like the nerf has affected my Monks build. Not sure what people were having before, but my FoT seems to work the same.

Incorrect. In D3, your magic find is averaged among all players, items dropping independently for players has nothing to do with MF....if 3 people in your game have a combined magic find of 30%, it's the same as if you were playing on your own with 10% MF.

source (scroll down to post # 17....post is no longer there on battle.net so I had to use the google cache)

In short, unless everyone in your game has magic find of the same amount or you are all sharing drops with each other, you are better off playing alone if you want to search for items via magic find (or joining the game of someone that has lots of MF if you do not have much).

From what I understand, FoT with Quickening was the issue, quickening makes critical hits with FoT give you 15 additional spirit, apparently it was making ALL critical hits (not just those while attacking with FoT) give 15 additional spirit.

Ah, why would people do that? I have no spirit problems when using FoT with the bonus of increased dodging per 3rd hit. I just use that, dash, cyclone, serenity, blessing of heaven, and MoH and I survive anything short of a 50 monters/elite mob :p

lol what? Wizard = Easy Mode for D3.. Nightmare is a challenge if you aren't geared right. my current Damage is 1400+ and Vit = 10k and im level 44 I believe. Only time I die is if there is a mob of like 50 enemies at once.

Nightmare wasn't an issue for me with my Wizard until Act 4. Archone is our friend for large group of enemies.

I love giant packs, the more the merrier. As a monk, that is a strong suit. It is the small packs that kill me. My highest kill streak is 192 mobs on Hell, in Act III on the ramparts. It was awesome and lasted forever, I for sure thought I was dead multiple times, but Boon of Protection spam and basically unlimited spirit saved me.

That's the biggest mistake I've made so far. I always set it to dexterity only. I just swapped out a lot of my high dexterity gear for low to medium dexterity plus high vitality and it made a huge difference. My DPS went down from 3.6K to just about 3K. And my health went up from 7.5K to just about 20K. I finally feel a little happier with my level 51 Monk. I forgot what my armour is at and I can't check it right now because I can't get past the login screen. You should definitely add me though. I'd love to inspect your gear. :p

My Battle tag is Anaron#1767. If anyone else would like to add me, then feel free to do so.

Will do once I get off work!

Is anyone else having Auction House issues. Last night, and today at lunch, I could not buy anything, it just got hung up and said server timed out. Same thing happens when I try to list auctions, and when I try to send gold or items from my Completed to my stash, they are stuck there and I can't send them. Started last night, and is apparently still plaguing me today. :(

At the end of my lunch play through I encountered a situation like that. I ran down some stairs into this choke point where I was surrounded by a ton of enemies. One side were 3 blues, the other side a rare monster pack. Was in Act 4 in the "hell" area on Nightmare. I just started spamming everything I could, and ended up with about 4 hp before I somehow brought myself back to full life. Lasted about 5 minutes of clicking before they all dropped. It was about 70ish monsters. The next mob though like that totally wiped me :p

    • Microsoft finally admits its default Windows 11 25H2, 24H2 action broke key legacy component by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. So far the company has acknowledged two known issues that have popped up after the release which include bugged-out Office apps as well as the Recycle Bin; though there could be more at play too. Speaking of bugs and issues, Microsoft seems to have finally acknowledged a problem that probably has been around for close to a year. That's because back in July of 2025 the company made a default change to the latest Windows 11 versions, wherein it switched to JScript9Legacy on Windows 11 24H2 and later releases. Hence following the release of version 25H2 in October 2025, JScript9Legacy also remained default-enabled. As a result there has been a compatibility issue ever since then. For those wondering, by switching to JScript9Legacy Microsoft intended to improve the security of modern Windows PCs by reducing vulnerabilities tied to legacy scripting like cross-site scripting (XSS), among others. XSS exploits can allow cyber-attackers to attach malicious code onto legitimate websites and use them to execute the code when a potential victim loads such a website. Hence the new JScript9Legacy engine enforced stricter execution policies and improved object handling, which should help mitigate such attacks. Microsoft today has published a new support article detailing the problem. Neowin spotted it while browsing. The company says that JScript global definitions and execution context may fail to persist across scripts, potentially breaking older dependent apps and web-based components that relied on this legacy behavior. In the article Microsoft has confirmed that the issue stems from its move away from the older jscript9.dll engine in favor of jscript9legacy.dll. As mentioned above, while the newer engine was designed to address vulnerabilities and strengthen security it also changes how JScript handles execution context. As a result functions and definitions loaded by one script could no longer remain available to subsequent scripts once execution ended. The company notes that some applications worked correctly on earlier Windows versions because the older JScript engine automatically retained global definitions and execution state between scripts. Under the newer model though that behavior is disabled by default causing certain legacy workloads and polyfill-dependent scripts to fail. Microsoft says it addressed the problem via the KB5077241 update though the fix had not been enabled automatically in the following updates. As such admins must explicitly turn on persistent JScript execution context using a Registry setting that the tech giant shared today. The configuration can be applied to individual processes or system-wide through the FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE registry key. The steps have been outlined below: Run the following command to create the feature control registry key: reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE" Under this key, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value. Configure the value as follows: To enable persistence for specific processes only: Set the value to 1 for each target process name. To enable persistence for all processes: Add * as the key name and set its value to 1. You can find the official support article here on Microsoft's website.
