Its looking good just makes me mad that i accidentally

killed Wrex

So I am going to play through the first 2 again prior to this coming out :p

Yeah, that happened on my first ever play through. Ever since then, I max out Charm or Intimidate whenever I make a new Shepard in ME1 so I can always get the most out of the conversations.

i am very excited about mass dialogues :D One of my fav part of mass effect games.

Good luck :D It's hard to do as much of the side missions when you are playing something for the second time.

So one thing has been bothering me about ME3 since Bioware first released information about it, is the tech-blade melee attacks.

Has anyone read any explanation about how a virtually displayed stabbing weapon is capable of doing actual harm? Is it like mini mass effect fields projected in such a way as to cause harm? I just don't get it.

Anyone else see this when they woke up this morning?

This game cant come soon enough, i recently replayed ME1 and ME2 all the way through. Saved the Rachni and managed to keep everyone alive at the end of ME2, ive got my save backed up in multiple locations. Looking forward to some more Garrus storylines and an end to the saga.

In preperation for this game I decided to give ME2 another chance and I bit the bullet and bought all the dlc I didn't already have and started a new playthrough. Maybe I'll actually finish it this time. Gonna try to marathon it and get it finished by the time BF3 is out. That's looking doubtful though considering I had 30 hours into the game before I stopped playing it.

You really owe it to yourself to play through the whole game and the two "big" DLCs (Arrival and Shadow Broker). The way each piece wraps up the story is really well done. Not to mention it's just fun to plow through enemies once you're higher level.

I know. I've pre-ordered the ME2 collectors edition and played it for a while after launch. Then it came to light that they would be releasing a lot of dlcs for the game so I just gave up on it and haven't gotten around to playing it since.

Though I still think it's incredibly lame that part of ME3's plot revovles around a dlc from ME2.

Mass Effect 3 Private Beta Unintentionally Released With Xbox Live Preview Update

4QVm6.jpg

That?s certainly what it looks like, going by these screenshots. Weighing in at a hefty but manageable 1.81GB, the private beta has provided a number of users a glimpse of the game well ahead of its March 2012 release.

ZI3vS.jpg

According to the NeoGAF thread where the images were uploaded, the beta is missing textures and sound effects and is by no means the full experience as BioWare intended it. A poster with access to the download mentions there?s a difficulty level ?below casual for people who really don?t like the combat? and ?a mode that selects dialog automatically for people who don?t like the talking bits.? I?m hoping these are simply jokes, but something tells me they might not be.

Let us know if you?re able to download it. Currently, it appears it?s only showing up for US users that are a part of the Xbox Live Preview Program.

More shots can be found below, and at the NeoGAF link.

Of course some people are already screeching about the apparent addition of auto dialog and easier combat modes. Although these modes don't affect you if you don't want to use them, people have wasted no time complaining about them.

So if you select conversation mode>automatic and combat mode>automatic then its like a movie :D

Anyway i hope its not dumbed down version on proper settings compared to me1 sinc ei felt that me2 was a bit.

so like FFXIII

Everyone's complaining about the quality of this leak. For something 4-5 months from release I found it to be worthwhile. I've said it a dozen times now. Sure I encountered bugs but it's unfinished and there's placeholders all over. It's not something people should be concerned about.

Accidental or not it was great to glimpse some of the possible design changes. They could stay or go but seeing what they're up to was definitely nice.

All in all I'm glad I had the chance to play it. Especially since it wasn't the same as what I saw at PAX, E3, etc.

An egg-faced BioWare scrambled this morning to contain any damage done by
. The developer chalked it up to ?human error? and ask that everyone please, please remember this is all unfinished stuff.

The beta was made available by mistake to those in the closed beta for the new Xbox Live dashboard. BioWare got the beta taken down and deactivated, but not before tonnes of screenshots and even a little video made it out to the internet. So now, it?s time to unring the bell. Take it away, BioWare:

Hello everyone!

As most of you know by now, this evening an accidental leak occurred of some early
Mass Effect
3 beta code. Microsoft has advised us that through human error at their end, content which was meant for internal beta testing was flagged incorrectly and released to individuals who had signed up for the beta of the Xbox Live dashboard update. It has since been taken down and deactivated.

We?d like to stress that the leaked code is in a rough, unfinished state and was not meant for public release. The content is not final, and is not reflective of the quality of the finished, polished game due for release on March 6, 2012 (March 9 in Europe).

One feature that was present in this early build is a set of game play modes that are in development. In the beta code they are referred to as ?action mode?, ?story mode? and ?RPG mode?. We want to stress that these features are still in the early stages of development and will receive considerable iteration and refinement.

These modes are designed to give players an even finer degree of control over their game experience than ever before. Whether it be someone who finds the combat difficult but wants to experience the amazing story, someone who wants to focus on the action and combat game play, or fans who want the rich, story-driven RPG
Mass Effect
experience they?ve come to love ?
Mass Effect
3 will support all of these options. We?ll have more info in the days ahead!

Mass Effect 3 Internal Story Files Leak

BioWare: "We urge fans not to read them if they want to experience the purest form of the story."

Bioware hasn't been having the best of luck lately. They should just release Mass Effect 3 now to prevent any more leaks... :shifty:

well played sir... well played.

    • Ladybird Browser is no longer accepting outside contributions thanks to AI by David Uzondu The Ladybird Browser Project has announced it will no longer accept public pull requests and will limit changes to those made by its maintainers as it works towards its first alpha release. According to Ladybird's creator Andreas Kling, this is "not a change we make lightly," but the rapid shift in AI capabilities forced their hand. Previously, a massive PR implied that the person behind it put a lot of care into the code and is ready to "answer for the consequences." Now with AI, anyone can generate a PR without even understanding the bug fix or feature they want merged. The blog post goes on to say that the team is closing all open public pull requests immediately, and that maintainers will not treat external forks as a review queue for upstream Ladybird. Instead, the team wants outside contributors to focus on reporting bugs and running tests. Kling started Ladybird back in 2019 as LibHTML, a simple HTML viewer for his hobby operating system, SerenityOS, but by September 2022, it had turned into a full-fledged browser project. What sets Ladybird apart from the likes of Google Chrome, Apple Safari, or Mozilla Firefox is its totally independent engine, which does not rely on pre-existing codebases. The project maintains a strict policy against default search engine deals or user data monetization, keeping development funded entirely by donations and sponsorships. Generative AI is forcing open source project maintainers to rethink how they handle public code contributions (and the whole open-source thing in general). One month ago, a leak about the National Health Service (NHS) suggested the organization was planning to take all of its public repositories private ahead of a May 11 deadline, thanks to Mythos (an AI model that Anthropic believes is too dangerous to be released to the public) and its ability to find and write exploits for zero-day vulnerabilities. Thankfully, the Government Digital Service (GDS) issued a counter-report titled "AI, open code and vulnerability risk in the public sector" that stopped the shutdown by pointing out that hiding code does not improve security.

    • I like the show more options. The only problem with it is that it's not always in a consistent spot in the menu. If the copy/paste/cut, happens to show on top, then more option is the last in the menu. But if copy/paste/cut happens to show on the bottom, then more options is before the copy/paste/cut. But I do like the more options because it hides the stuff that I rarely use. But I would like to choose what it is or isn't hiding. That would make it better.
    • I wonder if "put it back the way it was for decades" ever crossed their minds? 🤣
