chconline Veteran Posted November 3, 2011 Veteran Share Posted November 3, 2011 I have a 2006 Honda Accord. I really like it. I don't want it for 20 years though. However, MPG hasn't changed that much in Accords from 1990 to now. No, but the Accord 20 years later is MUCH larger, has a lot more horsepower, and has enough safety features to make the 1990 Accord look like a deathtrap. Growled Member Posted November 4, 2011 Member Share Posted November 4, 2011 Fluke things like this do happen but sometimes no matter how much you take care of a car if falls apart because it's nothing but a pile of junk to start with. oldmate15
I wonder how much of that car is still original? Yeah I would like to know that too. The article said it only broke down once, fuel pump. He stripped the engine down and cleaned it, wonder if it got a fresh rebuild as well? I work for a truck dealership, most trucks doing 200,000km a year. Seen plenty over 1,000,000km. How you drive has a huge impact on how long your engine is going to last. Give it time to warm up and don't thrash it.
