it doesn't take very long, esp if they are as simple as the ones that have been made for this theme. Not only that, but none one has any sort of animation. Basicly all these theme skins are are just a lot of copying and pasting.

and btw, I agree. Most of these match the theme, yes, but arn't that impressive to look at at all.

why do you need animation to listen to music .. that's why i use foobar .. plain and does what it's supposed to .. play music, no bloat

If you ever bothered to ventuer over to the skinnign section you woudl see that I did one based off the winamp.com site fuqtard. It was my first skin ever, but it still had volume and EQ animations. and I did a diferent style for each window, I didn't just copy and paste and add buttons where needed.

Well good, you know how. Then make one. Not tryin to flame here, just point something out: we skinners don't get payed, we do this for fun. Most of us are perfectly willing to take requests/suggestions/critizism (I am, at any rate), but if somebody just says "that sucks" it doesn't help anything. At the very least, explain WHY you think it sucks. As for the Reluna winamp skins, all 3 are very well made - maybe you don't like them, but to just call them cut and past jobs is just ignorent.

are you as stupid as the other guy? I DID MAKE ONE! maybe caps will help you understand better. I am not saying that these skin suck, they are nice, but I have seen much better. They do what they are supposed to do, match the theme, but that it is. If they didn't match a theme, I doubt they would get many downloads @ all. As for thinking it is a cut and paste job making m e ignorant, you are the ignorant one for thinking that it isn't. ahve you even looked at the skin? Each and every window is the exact same. Same titlebar, same border, same strechy sides. The only thing that is different is the amount of buttons, which was prbly noting more than a layerset that he had to hide/show/move.

You want suggestions? Why not make the playlist more like the start menu and taskbar? Also why not make the VOL/Balance sliders like the .avi's for moving files and whatnot? Also why not make the slider on the playlist match the slider for the windows? Furthermore, he coudl round the corners to match the windows for the VS. It's not that hard to do transparency. Where is the inner glow type deal that Reluna has on it's buttons? That would have been a nice addition to the c-buttons, or at least to the playlsit buttons. Or all the buttons even.

Happy now? Now can a mod move this last page or so of posts to the reuna skin thread in the skinning and customizing section so as to not derail this VS thread anymore?

Ignorance really is bliss isn't it? You and your kiss ass cronies are the one who flamed the other guy for expressing his opinion and asking a simple question.

I flame noone who doesn't deserve it. The fact of the matter is, kol, just like every other skinner out there puts his time into creating skins for us to use...for FREE...and besides you, we are all grateful. If you don't like the skin, then don't use it. Do you write to kellogg when they create a cereal you don't quite like. Do you tell them to get rid of it and add berries and then you will buy it - forget the millions of other people who like it how it is? The fact of the matter is, the only person who has any right to criticize the skin is bant, since it is his style to begin with...and bant has had nothing but good things to say about kol's work.

You are no longer worth the arguments in this thread, because you are the kind of person who has too thick of a skull to get anything past it. Feel free to respond to this however you will, because I will not stoop any lower to write an additional response.

who cares if it is for free or not? All winamp skins are free. Just because someone puts time into something means that it is great? Well hell! I'll see you later! I am going to take a 5 hour acting class, and because I spent time there, Hollywood will have to give me a part becuase I spent time on learning how to act, so that must mean I am a great actor! Time doesn't guearentee a good product. Neither does it's cost.

ok guys, just leave it be. prntscrn is free to dislike anything he wants. You are arguing over principles that you have grown up viewing differently. no matter how hard you try to make the other person understand you, you will not succeed. especially if you both keep poking away at the weaker part of eachothers arguments, instead of actually analyzing the conflict between you two, and trying to resolve it. just give it up, its probably putting you both in a mood you dont need to be in.

I am truly thankful for all of the extra work that has gone towards reluna by other artists. I think all of the work has been beneficial to the community as a whole, and i think different people will gravitate towards each of the different skins. We have a nice variety, but they are all basically ports. You cannot expect true originality from a port. PrntScrn, you would have done something differently had you created your own, i recognize this and appreciate your point of view, but i also respect the other artists interpretations of how Reluna should look once translated over to winamp, or trillian, etc.

so thanks KoL, Danke, AlanZeino2002, Baldmonkey, Nazgul, Voodoo_Freak, and Mentaleruptions. you guys have all helped make Reluna what it is today. cheers.

I've done that before. didn't work though. I wanted berries in my cocoa puffs.

Reluna is great. Bant did a great job. people make other parts to match it. They match. Some people like, some don't. Don't argue about it. If you don't like the parts available make your own and share them. maybe people will like your new part better than the old. but then they might not.

You aren't in business, you're doing this because you are artistic and like to do it. The WinAmp5 skin resembles more of a 2.x look, and I think that is why he is saying it's not that great [considering all of the things that WA5 can do]. It does match the theme great, for a classic look.

Nice reply after Bant tries cooling things down between people though, you get all fired up. Down boy.

    • Waymo recalls self-driving software after cars enter closed freeway work zones by Paul Hill Waymo, the self-driving car maker owned by Alphabet – the parent company of Google –, has recalled some of its fifth-generation Automated Driving Systems (ADS). It did so after some of its cars drove through closed construction zones. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected vehicles were capable of driving through a closed freeway construction zone and continuing to drive at speed. The listing on the NHTSA website says that Waymo is currently developing a solution to fix this issue, but in the meantime, freeway driving is being restricted. Waymo will update its ADS software so that vehicles can detect when they can avoid entering construction zones. According to the Safety Recall Report, on April 20, 2026, Waymo’s Field Safety Committee began meetings reviewing an event from April 11, 2026, and five events from April 19, 2026, where Waymo’s autonomous vehicles didn’t recognize and drove past ramp closure signs into the pre-planned freeway construction zones. This took place in Phoenix, Arizona. Separately, on May 18, 2026, seven Waymo vehicles entered freeway lanes with active construction in the San Francisco Bay Area by driving between cones that were placed to show the lane was closed. On the back of both of these events, Waymo restricted freeway driving until it could address the issue. In June, Waymo’s Safety Board reviewed the issue and additional information related to ADS performances around construction zones; then, as a result, it decided to conduct a recall. This development is not good for Waymo as it adds to a growing list of technical hiccups its cars have experienced. Ultimately, it will lead to more scrutiny from lawmakers around the world who will be more cautious about letting autonomous vehicles on their roads without tighter regulation. For readers in areas where Waymo operates, does this news make you more wary about stepping into one of these vehicles?
    • I'm still on Windows 10 22H2 because I didn't want to deal with all the issues in Windows 11, so I waited almost a week before installing the latest Patch Tuesday update (KB5094127), I went ahead and did it, and it was a huge mistake—ever since then, my File Explorer has seen a performance drop of about 30% when transferring large files... Once again, Microsoft has outdone itself! This update cannot be uninstalled, either through the Control Panel (via Settings) or by accessing Advanced Startup Options. The only possible alternative would be to use system restore points, but I’d have to reinstall all app and driver updates (and there’s no guarantee it would work). Or there’s the “nuclear option” of a in-place repair without losing files or apps, but even then, all my customizations would be lost! Microsoft just can’t help but mess everything up! Way to go, Microsoft! But I still don’t want your c****y Windows 11!
    • Microsoft: Windows 11 could finally solve a major issue across AMD, Nvidia, and Intel GPUs by Sayan Sen While Microsoft has been trying to improve it, Windows 11 is definitely not flawless, as even today some issues are taking a year to publicly acknowledge. However, one area of trouble that may finally see much better results soon is graphics driver crashes. Work on graphics driver timeouts, also called Timeout and Detection Recovery (TDR), is not new as the latest WDDM 3.2 also has specific improvements regarding it. Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) version 3.2 is supported on Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2. However, with the upcoming version 26H2, TDR crash diagnosis could go to the next level as Microsoft is introducing a new DirectX 12 API feature called "DirectX Dump Files". Similar to how system memory dump files work when a system crashes or freezes or encounters any such major issue, DirectX Dump Files (DDF) will essentially record a snapshot of the GPU execution right at the moment a graphics-related crash or hang or freeze occurs, so that developers can better understand and diagnoze these TDR and timeout detection errors. The dump will be available as a .dxdmp file for analysis and it will be a comprehensive dump file generated with detailed insights about the hardware, drivers, Windows, as well as the affected application. This should be another welcome change in this department. Earlier at GDC 2026, when the technology was first debuted, Microsoft had shared more details regarding it. The company had explained how DDF is designed to gather data from every layer of the graphics stack into a single file, eliminating the need for developers to manually correlate logs from multiple tools. As mentioned above, the dump can contain a lot of useful details like GPU hardware state information such as register values, shader program counters, page fault virtual addresses, shader memory data, and command buffers. Alongside that, it also captures DirectX runtime and kernel information, including D3D objects, pipeline state objects, device error data, adapter details, and CPU call stacks. Microsoft says the feature has been built around two primary use cases: retail device removals and local device removals. The former allows developers to collect crash information from end users' systems in the field, while the latter helps QA teams and developers investigate issues on test machines. Developers will also be able to include up to 2 MB of custom application data through new D3D12 APIs, providing additional context for troubleshooting. In addition, Microsoft is introducing three dump collection modes ranging from zero-overhead capture, which has no runtime performance impact on supported hardware, to higher-detail modes that collect more vendor-specific debugging data. On compatible Tier 2 hardware, zero-overhead dumps will be enabled by default, meaning developers may begin receiving useful crash diagnostics without making any code changes. The table below explains the three tiers: Tier Description NO_OVERHEAD Enables crash capture with no runtime cost and is suitable for broad deployment MEDIUM_OVERHEAD Provides a balance, capturing additional diagnostic data with moderate impact HIGH_OVERHEAD Collects the most detailed GPU and driver state available, enabling deeper investigation at the cost of higher runtime overhead In terms of availability, the company expects broader release to be around the fall of 2026, which should be right around the time when Windows 11 version 26H2 lands. Right now, DirectX Dump Files are available as a preview and currently, only AMD has the compatible AgilitySDK Developer Preview driver version 26.10.07.02. You can find the official announcement post here on Microsoft's website.
