Yes, it's overplayed. Yes, there are tons of covers of the song, most of which suck badly. I don't care, to me 'Stairway to Heaven' is still one of the best songs ever.

I personally find it very tired, dull and overhyped. However, I am 33. Had I been around when it came out, I can fully appreciate it would have meant a lot more to me and I can see why it means so much to so many people.

Friend of mine went to a few Led Zeppelin concerts prior to their explosion of popularity. He also went to numerous ACDC concerts when Bon Scott was the lead singer AND saw Def Leppard live when Rick Allen had both of his arms. Inevitably I was super jelly when he told me. :(
