Is there a way to use the internet on the ipad 2 on a laptop?

once i a while i'd like to use the internet on the ipad 2 on the laptop (when on the go).

Just wondering if there is a way, jailbroken or not..

You mean tethering. There are plenty of tethering apps available on cydia...

Does the iPad not support it natively?

Yes the iPad supports it natively. Settings > Personal Hotspot. It's on mine.

EDIT: I'm on 3 UK. I'm told Vodafone, o2 etc have it disabled.

Yeah I was just about to add that it's carrier specific.

iPad does not have personal hotspot, this is only for iPhone. You would need to Jailbreak and install MyWi ($19.99) and it is not very stable in my experience.

Ahh maybe thats the issue. The Profile I have installed on my iPad is the same an iPhone would receive, maybe thats why mine has the Personal Hotspot.

For example, iPhones on the Text 500 plan won't have Personal Hotspot, but iPhones on TheOnePlan will. i'll see if I can take a copy of the Profile and ping it over to you.
