Lels
My brother sent me his old Samsung Transformer not too long ago so I could use it as a media/net device. Right now I don't have a cable that will allow me to mount my microSD card while in the phone, as apparently the Transformer is picky about its microusb cords. So I decided I'd try to write some files to the card from my netbook via its SD slot and a microSD to SD adapter. However, when I try and write something to it, it tells me that it is write protected. I made sure the adapters lock switch wasn't on and I still get the issue. Is it common for Android phones to write protect it's microSD card? If not or even if so, is there a way to get around it? I have looked all around and can't find any working solution. Someone pleaseeee help! Thanks in advance! :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1055644-android-write-protected-microsd-card/ Share on other sites
Detection
Might be the adapter, I have a cheap digital camera that wont allow me to use MicroSD cards with an SD Adapter because it keeps telling me it is locked when it is not Replaced it with a normal SDCard and it worked fine Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1055644-android-write-protected-microsd-card/#findComment-594626984 Share on other sites
Phouchg
Maybe the MicroSD card itself has gone bust. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1055644-android-write-protected-microsd-card/#findComment-594627000 Share on other sites
Lels
I have read that elsewhere as well, that the card might be done. That doesn't make sense to me though. How can the card be bad if it works perfectly fine in the phone? ---Update--- Well I figured it out guys. For some reason it just wont work with the SD slot on my netbook. Tried it on a different computer with a SD slot and it worked perfectly fine. Netbook card reader may not be SDHC ready, or may need an update.
