World of Warcraft for sure. At least Minecraft players actually build really damn cool stuff like entire processors out of the game. That takes a REALLY smart person to do. World of Warcraft players just hole themselves up in their room all day and night killing people in a fantasy game.

Ahh, world of warcraft. I miss their forums, entire pages of tears/threats to go to the newspapers over an unexpected one hour outage. And as anyone who's been on there knows, that isn't an exaggeration, watching people rage about how "their rights have been violated" and they're going to take Blizzard to court because downtime lasted longer than expected is pure comedy gold.

Are you guys really having this much trouble with the question? I mean, I understand some of you are in other countries, but you all speak English well and it really is a simple question. Who is the worst? Who is more annoying, who whines more, who do you dislike more, however you want to ask it.

English 101 (Y)

Edit: I'm just messing with you guys, but really, don't think to hard about it, it's not a complex question.

Anyways, I would have to go with WoW Players, purely because they bitch and moan about every last thing, from login times, to how loud Deathwing roars, to the capitilization of NPC Names. I am sure there are minecraft whiners, but definitely not like I have seen with WoW.

As for Minecraft too, the players as mentioned above make some amazing things. Some guy made a basic LED screen which displayed the current time using torches and a bunch of thrusters / lifts

Poll is silly because the two haves have very little if anything in common really.

It's like asking whats worse: Skittles or Wood (doesnt make sense).

Really? The whole both being a computer game that has players that play it and comparing the players that play it is like Skittles to wood? I think this is one of those not sure if serious times.

I think WoW players are the worst, although I don't know too many mine craft players, but back in the army, people in my barracks would get on the PC as soon as COB friday came and went, and would not get off until Monday PT. they literally slept in rotations so that they could play 24 hours straight each day. that's just dumb. and as stated, minecraft players have created some really cool things.

Both are computer games, both are well known, both have crazy fan followings, seem pretty close to me.

Wood is worse, Skittles taste like rainbows

World of Warcraft players just hole themselves up in their room all day and night killing people in a fantasy game.

Minecraft players do that too. There is pvp in that game and building complex structures isn't the point of every server.

The only thing they have in common is they are a video game. Both games have numerous types of personalities that play it so comparing them in a way that implies there are only two types of people, one for each, is like comparing Skittles and Wood. Some people play Minecraft to build, other play it to walk around and see what others have built. Some play it for the pvp, some play it for the RP and some, like me, play it to play with programming mods. Some people play WOW for RP, PVP, the story, etc. I can't stand PVP because I find it boring. Most people find what I do in Minecraft boring. Those same people play Minecraft with me and we are in no ways similar other than we play the same game. Comparing all Minecraft players to all WOW players in such a general fashion would mean neither is better or worse because they both attract the same types of people. Also, making a poll that suggests either one of theses is filling only with players that are somehow less pleasent than any other general population with a very lose connection is ignorance at its finest.

Hmm... I suppose so. Sounds like a technicality that only someone who plays one or both would make though. To people who don't play either, they are both just video game players. I can see the general attitude of players on both, so the comparison is valid to me. To me, WoW players are a lot worse. A lot more people waste their life playing WoW in my opinion, and by waste their life I mean the people who play for hours on end every day, avoiding any social interaction with real humans, I'm sure they both have them, but to me, WoW has a lot more. More people who act like their life is over because their account got hacked. More people crying their eyes out when the servers go down. In general, I feel like WoW has a lot more players who care about the game an unhealthy amount. Like I said, I'm sure they both have these kind of people, just like they have people who just play every so often for fun, but in my opinion, which is the point of the poll, WoW players are worse.

right, but building is the main point of the game, and the reason many of us pay it.

PVP is a very small part of minecraft, and a majority of the gamers, servers don't participate in this.

Which is true but like my longer post that is filled with grammatical errors that I can now not edit states, the two games pull in all types of people, not just one for each game. Putting all of them into one category each and then comparing them just doesn't make sense.

You are adding things to the poll that are not there. The poll doesn't say anything about anything you listed. Everyone here probably agrees with the points you made, but the poll says nothing about that. It is throwing all WOW players into one group and all Minecraft players into one group and then comparing them.

Which is true but like my longer post that is filled with grammatical errors that I can now not edit states, the two games pull in all types of people, not just one for each game. Putting all of them into one category each and then comparing them just doesn't make sense.

Also, I use to play WOW when it wasn't such a casual game like it is now. When an account got hacked, none of my friends cried. So again, it is a generalization that is nothing more than ignorant stereotyping. How is the crying behavor you describe any different from DOTA, COD, BF, or any other game that requires time different from WOW or Minecraft? I have listened to fits of rage in every game. Saying that there is something inherently worse about either game is ignorant. Also, to claim that they are avoiding social interaction with "real humans" makes me have a few questions. What is a fake human? Do you not considering two people talking to each other over the internet social interaction with real humans? If not, that means we are all wasting our time discussing things on this tech forum according to your logic. If anything, playing online games is more socially interactive than watching tv, reading books/magazines, etc.

    • Google pitches Spanner as one database for all AI agents with these new featues by Karthik Mudaliar Google Cloud is introducing new features within Spanner, its distributed database, as a place where enterprises should keep their data, using which AI agents could make smarter and better decisions. In a detailed blog post, Google highlighted quite a few features coming to Spanner, including relational data, graph relationships, vector search, key-value access, full-text search, and operational analytics together in one database architecture. Google says that today's systems aren't well-made for AI agents. There could be data that is present in one system, search indexes in another, embeddings in a vector database, and relationship data in a graph database. This fragmentation isn't great for AI agents to do their jobs because they don't have access to all of this data in one place. This is where Google is positioning Spanner as a solution. Spanner is already a globally distributed relational database with strong consistency, and Google wants its customers to see it as a broader data layer for AI applications. The company introduced something called Spanner Graph, along with integrated vector search, full-text search, a Cassandra-compatible key-value endpoint, and a columnar engine for analytical queries on operational data. Google also added that its ScaNN-powered vector search can support indexes with more than 10 billion vectors, while the columnar engine can make some analytical scans up to 200 times faster. All of this isn't just exclusive to the Google Cloud Platform, and there's support for multi-cloud as well. This comes via Spanner Omni, which Google says is a downloadable, containerized version of Spanner that can run on Kubernetes and in environments outside Google Cloud, including Microsoft Azure and AWS, and even on-premises infrastructure as well as edge deployments. Google says that customers who are interested in the full-featured edition should contact the company, and there's no word on commercial availability or separate pricing. Those interested can read the full blog by Google Cloud, which details these features individually.

    • They have lots of info on me, I have a facebook account and have done so for years, it was the thing to have then. My phone number is not on it. I don't have the Facebook app on my phone these days, just the messenger part, and only for a couple of people to contact me, most will text me via SMS or phone. I agree, Meta, like others, even without an account will know something about me. Just have to try and keep some things private Also, never saw the need for Whatsapp, people used to ask for me to join it, but as I said to them, I have SMS and a phone, use that, or email
