In-browser spell checker for FireFox 10.0 not working on Neowin Forums

Recommended Posts

My in-browser spell checker has stopped working on Neowin Forums since Firefox 10.0 (may have stopped working earlier to this). Comments in news posts are still spell checking fine (as well as form entry on other web sites). Just not getting red squiqlies (sp?) in my text on the forum anymore.

Working fine for me. Check to make sure this is correct...

Trying now in Chrome and having the same problem. I could have sworn spellchecking worked fine on the forums before just recently.... has in-browser spell checking never worked on the forum?

Mine stopped working on version 9 and I had to check English as the language since it wasn't selected.

Working in Chrome now, thanks. But still having problems in FireFox 10.0. Might have to use Chrome since I rely on spellchecking so much.

Try doing what someone else said. Uncheck spell checking and reselect it and see if it works.

Didn't work :(. Tried restarting the browser between disabling and re-enabling as well, still no dice. Other fields in firefox have a "Check Spelling" option when I right-click them where the option can be turned on or off for the text field. No such option when I right click the text field in the Neowin forum.

Odd, IE9 doesnt have that option either. You are not using the IE TAB extension are you?

Not working in IE 9

Same prob

I was using the IE TAB extension, but only 1 website is picked up by it. Strange, after disabling the addon the right-click context menu over the text area shows a "Check Spelling" option and it is checked. However, still no red squiqly lines for poor spelling :(. Tried disabling and re-enabling it, no dice.

Disabled all addons. Still no spell check on neowin in FireFox 10.0 for me :(.

Tried uninstalling the extension and then trying it? Spell check works in both Firefox and Waterfox 10 for me no problems. May also want to try clearing your cache and maybe reinstalling FF.

It's an issue that seems to come up whenever you update Firefox. I fixed it by right-clicking the reply box and selecting a language.
