Then don't pay to see the revisions...

I don't and I know no one I know does. The problem is kids nowadays end up seeing these completely modified movies instead of the original and believe that this is how it is, not knowing that they are hack jobs.

No, actually despite whatever you may decide to believe for yourself, that IS the way it is. and if you think they're hack jobs, maybe you should actually go watch them.

Over reaction much? :p

Not at all, and yes I HAVE watched them, have you? Why is it nessesary to add multiple long scenes full of 3D rendered characters in a new hope or return of the jedi? Or completly edit parts and remove characters? They should not have been touched AT ALL, all the parts modified and removed/added do NOT contibute anything to the story all they do is create confusion such as this thread as Greedo never ever shot first.

It may not be necessary but the "artist" feels that his work of art was incomplete. it's his right to change it as he sees fit. Do I love all the additions? No; but then again I didn't love the original trilogy 100% either. Give and take...We give and George takes...our money!! ;)

Actually most of the added scenes are scenes that where never finished but where meant to be there. Like the jabba scene. But back then they couldn't turn the jabba a guy into the jabba slug, so it was dropped.

The updated outdoor scenes with cgi creatures and more people. Definitely adds too the atmosphere and ambience over the empty dead scenes of the original release.

And theres the cgi troopers in the death star, that's how it was supposed to be, the scene makes sense now. Han actually runs from troopers, not from three silly troopers.

The re releases are just plain overall better.

And the Han scene is the only scene there really has been confusion about. And that's just because some people think Han is some cold blooded shoot first killer, everything else in the movies paint him in a different light. It never made sense and seems more like an editor goof that you can't see Greedo the useless freshman thug shot first.
