Firefox scripts... how do I use/install them?

Recommended Posts

I saw a thread about (recently btw) scripts, modifying the look of firefox. I was wondering, if there's no official thread for scripts for fox that we could sticky this and allow developers to post their scripts.

I'm HIGHLY impressed with some of the peoples talents here and would also like to be able to use/reuse as i'd like these scripts along with a post of instructions on how to install them. I think itook the first step by installing grease monkey..not sure if that's a correct move on my part. MODS? can you sticky this. I think alot of these scripters could gain exposure here if they do.

thanks in advance.

BTW, I did take the iniative to search for how to install scripts but no dice...

peace!

This is the thread everyone's using to discuss them (http://www.neowin.ne...tylish-scripts/)

Also, http://userstyles.org/ is basically a huge database of scripts which provides easy installation

Greasemonkey is good, but I personally prefer the 'Stylish' add-on (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/). So, to install a script using Stylish:

1. Install the 'stylish' add-on

2. Find the code for the script you want to install and copy it

3. Go to the add-ons section of Firefox and on the left will be a menu for 'User Styles'

4. Under this menu will be a button 'write new style', select that

5. Paste the code into the larger box and give your script a name at the top

Alternatively, you can search through the userstyles website and just press the install link for the relevant script. You can enable and disable individual scripts quite easily. Hope this helps.
