SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- A South Dakota prison inmate is suing the hospital where he was circumcised as a newborn, saying he only recently became aware that he'd undergone the procedure and that it robbed him of his sexual prowess.

Dean Cochrun, 28, is asking for $1,000 in compensatory and punitive damages. He also asks in the lawsuit that his foreskin be restored "in the hopes I could feel whole again," though he acknowledged that he didn't expect such a restoration to be anything more than aesthetic.

Cochrun, who is imprisoned in Sioux Falls on a kidnapping conviction, filed the federal lawsuit Friday against Sanford Hospital. Cochrun claims that an "unknown doctor" at the then-named Sioux Valley Hospital misled his mother to believe that the procedure was medically necessary. Cochrun argues that the procedure was unnecessary, unethical and without medical benefit.

"I was recently made aware of the fact that I had been (circumcised) and that ... I was robbed of sensitivity during sexual intercourse as well as the sense of security and well-being I am entitled to in my person," he argued in the lawsuit, adding that neither he nor his partners would "have that sensitivity during sexual intercourse and have a normal sex life."

Sorry what?

He had it done as a child and is only now just realising?

Likely story

Anyway, it should be his parents he would have the grumble with, but even then, it is their choice as he was a minor so I would say legally he doesn't have a leg to stand on, not even a 3rd one

Given the dreadful state of sex education in America, it's quite likely he's never known what circumcision is, especially considering the vast majority of US males are all circumcised for some weird reason...

How the **** don't you realize you were circuminsized for 30 some years?!

Most likely the only penis he ever saw was his own and in porn. In porn most of the time they are circumcised.

If he had little sex ed there's a possibility he wouldn't know that they don't come like that

Simple. Don't go around checking out other guy's ######.

I thought my dick was perfectly normal until I got into sports and actually

saw for myself that it was different. Granted, I was a teenager... but the point

still stands. It's not like your parents sit you down at some point and explain

how they chopped off part of your pecker.

Foreskin lawsuits have become quite popular lately, anything to make a buck I guess, I mean in the states, most kids get their foreskins removed when they are still babies, and they live without it well into their sex lives, and all of a sudden, "I WAS ROBBED!! I WANT MY FORESKIN!!! IM NOT A COMPLETE MAN WITHOUT IT!!! boo--hoo"

Normal penises don't have scars on it. Mine does. You could tell that some sort of operation has been done on my penis when you see a ring of scar around the shaft.

It doesn't hurt but I do agree it decreases my sex drive a bit but not significently that I am able to still enjoy it.

There are community showers in teh 6th grade, and theres sex ed, stop trying to make me sound gay, just becuase you're extremely ignorant.

Looked it up and it is normal from circumcision

Circumcision is an unnecessary and brutal practice. You're basically mutilating your child's genitals before they are old enough to make decisions on their own. I never had it done, and neither has my child. I spoke to several doctors from different hospitals to ask about it when we were pregnant, in case I was missing something, and they all told me that there is no medical reason to have the procedure done.

its honestly not brtual... You wont even remember it, and I can honeslty say I don't care about a peice of skin.

    • Didn’t Dbrand once complain that Casetify was ripping off their designs a well? seems pretty bad of them to try and get around Valve’s copyright this way with that in mind.
    • Dbrand thought they could get away with this Steam Machine case, Valve disagreed by David Uzondu Image via Dbrand Dbrand has cancelled its highly anticipated Companion Cube enclosure for the Valve Steam Machine, which it teased back in November of last year with a concept render and sign-up page, because it did not ask Valve for permission first before manufacturing the case. According to Dbrand, it took the "backwards approach" of building the product first before asking for permission from the copyright holder. Seven months of work went into the project, requiring over a thousand engineering hours from the design team. Workers developed forty-four sets of injection molding tools, making a unique mold for each sub-component of the crate. When the Companion Cube went live on Monday last week, it, according to Dbrand, quickly became the second-fastest-selling product in the company's fifteen-year history, racking up orders for hundreds of thousands of units. Customers eagerly bought the $129.95 deluxe edition or the bare-bones $99.95 version, which the manufacturer cheekily branded as the "Poverty Cube". It was around this time that the legal eagles at Valve descended on the accessory maker with a formal demand. The developer pointed out that the iconic block design remains protected intellectual property from the game Portal, so unlicensed sales had to stop. Dbrand said that all its pleas to salvage the project with the Valve team, including proposals to run a properly licensed release under official terms "with their blessing", fell on deaf ears, so it had no choice but to obey and remove every trace of the product from the internet. If you bought the enclosure, the company said that banks will process your refund by the end of this week, but if it still hasn't arrived in your account by then, you should not hesitate to contact support. The Steam Machine itself is a high-performance console that Valve designed directly to bring PC gaming into the living room. It was announced on 12th November 2025 (the same day Dbrand announced the Cube) and runs on the Linux-based SteamOS, the same OS that powers the Steam Deck. As for the price, due to the shortage of memory and storage chips, the hardware cost landed much higher than people were expecting, starting at $1,049 for the 512 model (without a controller) or $1,128 with the new gamepad. The premium 2 TB model pushes those prices even higher, selling at $1,349 for the standalone console and hitting $1,428 if you want the bundle.
    • It's listed #399.99 on Amazon, per your link. It's not $299.99.
