What makes you proud about your nationality?

Really though, this country has an amazing history.

Why would I be proud to be American? If anything I'm highly ashamed of my nationality.

We're the creators (as far as I'm aware) of genetically engineered food (among other things), one of the worst substances (alongside pharmaceutical drugs) that you could ever put into your body whilst still labeled as food. Not to mention it's blindly approved (unlabeled mind you) by the worst agency in America who's supposed to care about its citizens' health (don't get me started on the medical industry with doctors who don't know anything about nutrition and actual healing). This stuff is required by law to be labeled in many other countries, with some even banning it entirely, and even banning imports from America.

I've wanted to get out of this country since I was a teenager, but that wouldn't change my nationality. I love British folks more than anything (Japanese coming in second, but first in culture), not Americans.

Although, if I had to pick one thing; I don't have an accent (means no 'American' accent either) that's hard to understand like some British and Australian folks. This is both good and bad, because I love British accents! :(

For some reason I feel like I'm about to be yelled at for being biased or some word I can't think of right now.

All the things that make me proud (Rich culture, helpfulness, Shivaji, etc are quickly nullified by bad things like corruption, poverty and uncleanliness. So I have found the middle ground. :D

Microbreweries.The rest of the world can't touch the amazing microbrews that are now being produced in the states.

If you want an imperial IPA, there are hundreds to choose from. If you want a stout infused with espresso, no problem.

Also have to give props to huge rock/metal festivals in this country. Can't wait to get my ass beat in the moshpit at Rock on The Range and also JJO Band Camp. :punk:

I think that is quite amusing. I know a lot of English who consider themselves British, but most Scots, Welsh and Irish considering themselves from their own respective countries.

before i get bashed, i want to make sure that people know that "i like the usa" but i agree with some of the comments here. In the last 50 years, the States has been in a free fall for world respect. Some times on forums, or talking in a chat room, you can sure tell that kids/teens/young adults from the states are "in love" with themselves. The only problem is they have nothing to be in love with. They have an ego that was built up by their grandfathers hard work and ideals. I can say honestly that I dislike "young" usa very much. Sure there are some exceptions and there are lots of great kids, but overall they should be ashamed of themselves and their expectation of life owing them.

The U.S has its problems like any where else but you'll be hard pressed to find a better place for an immigrant to start a new life. To those that hate the U.S and want to leave,think you can find a better place some where else I got news for you, the grass isn't greener any where every country has problems so escaping one country doesn't fix anything when you move to another that has problems to.

Having pride in your nation seems sorty of silly.. at least for most nations right now. It's like the grass is greener on my side of the fence argument :p I'm glad to be a human. I'm glad to be free thinking and open heart/minded enough to have bigger things on my mind than national pride. I just wish the rest of the world could catch up.

I love the U.S. because it has such a huge variety of people and places. From the big city lights of New York to the high desert of the southwest, to the beautiful forests of the Appalachians and the Pacific Northwest, the U.S. has a little something for everybody. Like every country, we have our political problems, but overall, if you aren't happy where you are in the U.S., there's tons of other places you can go and lead an entirely different life without ever leaving the country.

Well despite the fact some call me English, British or from the United Kingdom (we really need to sort this out I personally use British but I would rather we invented one for United Kingdom like United Kingdomer or United Kingdish) nothing and I think its weird people who our proud your born into it why should you be proud of it personally I can't wait to emigrate! In my head im if anything Earthling/Earthican/ or Human. The term I use most often is European UK however but this non legal so unofficial slightly off topic but point being I don?t care what im officially called im not proud of it.
