*Gets fired* :p

LOL, was snickering about the samething earlier. We still Windows 2003R2 HERE! Was gonna upgrade em to 2008R2 but figured might as well wait for 2012 :)

don't know if this allowed but this is the link im using & its on microsofts page http://care.dlservic...3&cprod=w8svrtn

If you want Windows Server 2012 that's fine but the rest of us are waiting for the Windows 8 Release Preview.

You must not be using anything big on your domain. Windows 2008 r2 is soooo worth upgrading to from 2003 even if its only for a couple of months.

2K3 R2 Still will do most activities for Domain handling and file serving just fine for any business under 100 members. Above that I feel 2k8 R2 is a must. If they're doing RDP Hosting though, the price is prohibitive to do small steps.

Using Server 2k3 here, and we have >2,000 users.... Goodness knows how many files, on lovely 100MB Cables.

We are a library of about 120 users. I think Its worth upgrading to for the full machine backup built into windows 2008 r2 . We also upgraded because we started using hyper-v which is cheaper for us in the long run.

Ouch McKay... I just upgraded one of my higher performance demanding clients to 2K8 R2 on an i7 3820 with 64 GB DDR3 Quad Channel running their database off 2 Intel 520's in a Mirror RAID all across dual gigabit. I'd go nuts on a system that old lol

    • This is exactly why I keep saying we are not ready for human free self-driving. These little "bugs" are may seem like random one-offs. There was also the Waymo that drove between police with drawn guns and the suspect they were pointing them at. From a software perspective it is easy to understand how those extremely rare situations may not have been programed for, but that is the point. If AI needs to be told to watch out for every possible contingency, then it can never be successful. There will always be the possibility of a first encounter that the AI needs to understand to avoid.

    • Recycle Bin has been broken for literal YEARS now. The setting to delete files older than 30 days from the bin which is on by default doesn't even work. I have files older than 4 months in it and they are just there still...
    • They’re really desperate to ingrain AI into society hoping to tug the heart strings of public to jump unto the boat of destruction to humanity’s individualism.
