Hard Drive and Sata Help

Ok i am totally confused here

i am trying to work out what rev os sata i have so i can get an SSD or at least see if it worth it

the hard drive i have just now is this

Seagate Momentus 5400.5 ST9160310AS (hard drive, 160 GB, SATA-300)

which if i am right is sata 2 due to it being 3gb/s is this right?

now on my sysinfo it shows this

which if i am right REV3 is Sata 3 and is 6gb/s

please someone put my mind at ease one way or the other lol

Is that revision 3 actually what that means, it could be rev 3 of the hardware chip, or anything really?

I am 100% POSITIVE ICH9M controller doesn't do SATA3 spec, it's from 2008...

You'll be fine with any SSD that you'd like to purchase as they are backwards compatible and you'll definately notice a difference in speed.

Likely the hardware rev so you only have 3Gb/s SATA which any SSD you add you still get lots more speed from then a HDD.
