What's your smartphone? And what ROM are you using?

Battery life. I can barely get through the day with my moderate use of things.

I know, same issue here.

If i want it to go through the day without charging it, I can't use wifi or 3G, as it drains the battery fast.

Not even worth mentioning games, cause they suck the battery out of your device like a black hole swalloing a whole galaxy .

Have you tried Sandvold ICS rom ? It's beta but I'm finding it pretty stable and fast.

I'm using CM 7.2RC right now, but I'm considering jumping again.

And MIUI roms? Tried any ?

My EVO 4G is now running CM7.

I literally just finished rooting it for the first time. I've been reluctant to do it in the past because I didn't want to brick it. But since my contract is over in a week, and I'll most likely be getting a new phone, I decided it's time to try out a custom ROM. Everything seems to be working, so my initial fears have been put to rest. The process took a while, because I double-checked every step before I did it. But no problems so far.

I really should have done it sooner. CM7 is really slick so far.

My first smartphone was a LG 7 Windows Phone and I loved it, but someone stole it.

Then I replaced it an Optimus Black first with stock rom and then with CM 7.0, laggy and buggy as hell.

Then changed it for a Nexus One with stock, but Android just feels meh to me.

Now I have an iPhone 4s.

Sandvold ICS 0.5.1 was the last one I tried, with both stock and tiamat kernels, in a sudden "ICS looks so w00t" surge. Didn't seem to have noticeable battery improvements. And it had this uselessly tinny bass boost for some reason. My ears probably thanked for it but the rest of me said "nope, won't do" :) And then some generic ICS app compatibility issues I couldn't be arsed to see to, so I ran for my backup soon.

Generally, "can't be arsed" characterizes me the best these days, so I haven't tried MIUI at all, nor even Oxygen (which is said to have the most exceptional battery life). I'm often pondering on jumping smartphone ship and going for Nokia 103 or the likes.

    • Ridiculous claim that the labor cost difference of $6000 annually would increase cost per phone by $200. The employees produce 3 phones per month or what?
