What's your smartphone? And what ROM are you using?

Physical or onscreen? The physical has never FCd on me and onscreen I use Swype but I dont remember anything like that on stock KB....

Both. I've had the physical FC when Im just opening the damn thing. Never seems to when Im using it though.

Galaxy S2 using Hydrog3n rom, and it's amazing!

Same here. If you haven't already, I'd recommend installing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1555259 (Siyah Kernel) It has improved my battery life a hell of a lot and it's also a lot quicker than the kernel that comes with Hydrog3n. :D

Just put Endymion latest version (v3.5 I think) on my Desire S and the battery usage seems appauling. Going to have to get a battery stats thing to see where it's all going :/ 58% and it was on charge all night and I've sent about 20 texts, taken 1 picture and emailed it, and it's now half 4.

Although I was on the phone for just over half an hour this morning but after that it was still only on 87%.

I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Right now I have AOKP Build 35 on it, but I will flip between that and Gummy (both are great). I'm also using Imoseyon's Lean Kernel (if you have a GNEX I highly recommend this kernel) Battery life is pretty good for a 4g device... I'm usually at around 20% with 15-16 hours of use (2-3 hours screen on time)

I like Gummy as well. But I like the themes that come with AOKP

Tried AOKP Milestone 6 but it has an issue with WiFi Tethering. also tried ICS333 2.1 very good ROM fluid and fast with no annoying issues.

Now on CyanogenMod 9 but it has minor issues with performance and apps randomly close mid use could be better, had thought that this ROM might have been issue free. might go back to ICS333 2.1 if I cant find another suitable ROM

Any ideas?

darkside venom 7.2 AOKP

google apps

JB is as they say, amazingly fluid. I can notice the improvement over ICS nearly instantly. BLN notification works with BLN app. Battery life has returned from 8hr with CM9 to 15hr or so with this build/kernel. Underwater sound when in call seems to be gone as well :)

    • Linux 7.2's first release candidate gets off to a good start by Paul Hill Credit: Larry Ewing It has been a few weeks since the release of Linux 7.1, and in that time, the Linux 7.2 merge window has been open, where developers can submit their features and patches ready for the upcoming release. That window is now shut, and the release candidate phase has begun so that new features can be tested and further fixes applied. According to the founder of Linux, Linus Torvalds, this week’s release candidate looks “reasonably normal”. Although we are super early in the release candidates, this is a good sign as it makes it more likely that an eighth release candidate will not be needed. Torvalds even mentioned that the update’s stats are only larger than they really are because there was another AMD header drop with a third of the patch just being AMD GPU register definitions, which aren’t big changes but make the code contributed look larger overall. In addition to this, he noted that just over half the patch is drivers, even when excluding the AMD register dump. The rest of the changes are spread out over architecture updates, tooling, documentation, and core kernel updates. In the next week, Torvalds says that he will be chilling out, taking the week “mostly off”. Despite this, he will be reading emails and keeping up with things, so if he is slow responding, now you know why. He said he is hoping for a calm week, but we will just have to see if the second release candidate is actually like that. We should expect seven or eight release candidates before Linux 7.2 is released, so expect it around the end of August. If you missed it a few weeks ago, be sure to check out our coverage of Linux 7.1's release.
